I feel that SMRT should provide direct service from Changi Airport towards Boon Lay and vice versa on all the C751B trains so that our dear tourists will be able to go to the city directly without having to transfer at Tanah Merah. Why C751B train? Because our dear tourists will not have to ride on the old and noisy C151 trains which do not have the features in the C751B trains. (main reason)
Last of all, passengers who travel on EWL more than NSL will get to ride on newer trains. (Not a main reason)

doesnt matter what train de. Refurb C151 is just as good. C751B although i like, they are very problematic ex to run. Got those weird heartbeat, howling, shhhhhhh and whistling sounds. SMRT put it usually on peak hour functions and I want more C751Bs on NSL.
yeah. as a tampines resident, it is very inconvenient for us living here in simei/tamp/pasir ris.
go mrt station at town or anywhere else, Changi Airport 6mins Pasir Ris 10mins
go to tamp mrt station frm home, Boon Lay 7mins Boon Lay 10mins. can see the 7mins is because of the train from airport going to boon lay before this incoming one.

Refurb C151 does not have LEDs that display station information or LCD TVs but the C751B has them.
i agree with this, especially ppl like me living in Boon lay, travelling to the other end is really pain in the ass
unless we've something like MTR Airport Express

There was once a direct ride to Changi all the way from Boon Lay. But, if you have taken the train from Tanah Merah towards Changi before, there aren't many passengers to justify sending direct train there. Anyway, if you in a hurry, get a cab.

As much as I'd like to agree with this plan... people above the Tanah Merah block would have to suffer twice the waiting time then people below the Tanah Merah block. Because of this crossover feature. Let's say people above the TNM block wait for 7 minutes, people below the TNM block wait for 3.5 minutes, because there is an extra train run.
2nd thing, during peak hours the crossover tracks before TNM is already utilised like nobody's business, because by that time Changi would be dispatching trains out to supply the peak hour demand. People like Ben whom I've explained to about the peak hour situation around TNM would know because the trains coming out from Changi will turn the "peaceful" scene of TNM into a messy one.
3rd... C151s are undergoing refurbishment. Do you know that after refurbishment, the C151s bear more features than C751Bs? Things like illuminated emergency exit sign on both ends of the train cannot be found in any C751B.
Last... it doesn't matter which line will get more trains. Ulu Pandan Depot sits in on both lines and it serves the main depot into dispatching trains out for peak hour. And do remember trains in any depot are not fixed; they can hop from one depot to another in just two days. Finally, TOs pick any train in the depot that is ready for passenger service to do their respective shifts/duties, there's no regulation on whether a TO can only take C751B out. What if all the C751Bs break down, just like when they were all withdrawn from service due to faulty gearboxes in early 2001?

Even when C751B has them, 60% of them are not in good working condition all the time. C751A FTW~

all the LCD TVs are non functionable. C151 unrefurb still good for me. Now its the C751B turn to get new announcements and then the LEDs in C751Bs with new announcements arent used at all. not even the clock and date. its like turned off. my phone clock is synchronised with 349/350 LEDs. till yesterday they are still synchronsied nicely. hopefully they dun remove so fast like how the new announcements were implemented on those C651s.
Maybe they are lazy to update the LEDs form "Next Stop" to "Next Station". Anyway, those LEDs have good potential!!!!

Not that they can't function, but SMRT decides to NOT use them (what a waste...). I would want the refurbishment to be expedited...C151 starting to look old liao (seeing the aluminium? air cond vent above me rotting and rusting...)
Pray hard C751B won;t get new announcement! Hate it to the core!! But ya, hope they don't remove the LEDs...they make the train look hi-tech :)
Anyway, if LTA were to comment, they would say: "until there is 'more development' in the Expo and Changi area, you won't get more train service, i.e. no thru-train from Boon Lay to Changi" (haha)

013/014 started using new annoucements on NSL but use old annoucements on EWL quite some time ago but I don't know weather it is still like this
