Power trips delay trains on 2 sections of North East Line

SINGAPORE : Train journeys on the North East Line were disrupted on Wednesday evening.

SBS Transit said services affected were those between HarbourFront and Outram Park MRT stations and between Dhoby Ghaut and Little India MRT stations.

A MediaCorp Hotline caller said a staff member at the Outram Park station announced that there would be a 25—minute delay. The caller said many commuters were waiting at the station.

SBS Transit said the disruptions were caused by two power trips.

The first started at 6.34pm and this affected the line between HarbourFront and Outram Park stations.

The second began at 6.53pm and this time the line between Dhoby Ghaut and Little India stations was affected.

In both cases, trains still ran but they were delayed because precautionary measures were taken to check the rail line.

SBS Transit said the longest delay passengers experienced was 17 minutes. — CNA/ms

I heng heng entered Dhoby Ghaut MRT station when the delay just started at around 6:34pm.
I waited for my train that came at around 7:15pm that would squeezed most of the people at Dhoby Ghaut in -_-

This is not 17mins. SMRT failed again

NEL operator is SBS Transit, not SMRT Trains.

be it 27mins or 1hr delay. at least it is still better than the 7 hrs delay that ppl have to suffer the other time.

derail because of no delay? doesnt really make sense here man...

people really should stop complaining about trains here and at least appreciate the fact that train services are finally improving rather than curse and swear at every falut that happens to the trains.

why not post on forums and complain to the world that your car brokedown and it took u 17 mins delay to push it out of traffic's way? try that maybe i'll be interested
