Well, if they can complain that they were late for work, why do they have the time to write such a letter? The thing is, Singaporeans only know how to complain; they can't even suffer just a little BIT. I wonder how many % of the people actually appreciated the efforts of the bus drivers. I wonder how many % of the people actually tried putting themselves in the shoes of SMRT staff of that chaotic morning? Planning such things isn't easy as it seems.Originally posted by Dead_Man_Inc:maybe they complain after they finish work and went home?

I think I've wasted so much time trying to criticise the arrogant behaviour of Singaporeans, but they just don't change. I think it's useless trying to say all these, right? I talked rubbish, right?
Let them rot. They will suffer in future. They don't even have the simple respect for such things, how can I respect them? As a Singaporean, I'm pretty ashamed that other Singaporeans go to such extent of complaining to the ST. I know the ST is a channel for thoughts and discussions, but not a channel for you to dump your complaints! Frankly speaking, if you do read comments after each ST Forum letter posted, you'd find that they are 500% more childish than what people here write. Go STOMP, they are 900% more childish.
Let me ask, how many people here actually appreciated the efforts of SMRT staff of having to get to work hours earlier than before just satisfy the needs of the peak hour people? And how many here actually thank them?
I see few. Not surprisingly, Singaporeans' ego is hard to satisfy and supplement.
Be anti-SMRT all you want; I'd rather live in a more gracious world where people appreciate what others have done for them. If I, as a 15-year-old student, can be gracious enough to appreciate such things, why can't the rest? It only goes to show how disastrous Civics and Moral Education has been. Lucky for me, I get proper education from CME. That's why I believe in such things. Of course, the reverse applies; people who don't appreciate such things definitely have not received enough CME education.
Bah, why did I waste my time again? There's only a few sensible here.
As you can see, most of them who write to ST forum or even STOMP are complaining, and expect things to be done. As you know, Singaporeans are known for their NATO. Who knows i'm one of those who in NATO in the views of other peopleOriginally posted by Oceane:Well, if they can complain that they were late for work, why do they have the time to write such a letter? u r just 15. u think u have seen the world ? come on.. wake up ur bloody idea. theres more to see. just because u r 15 n have received a civil n moral education, does that give u the right to critise the rest ? were u affected by the train disruption on tat day ? yes ? no ? i am very sure u wasnt even there in the 1st place. have u had the experience of going through all the anger and frustration that the passengers had to go though ? do u have that ? im sure it is a no. dont view things just from just 1 point. im sure ur teachers have taught u that. being baised isnt the way to go around. if u still think tat u r right and everybody else is wrong. go ahead. no 1 is stopping u. reflect on urself. tat will only show how well the education u've been reciving.
Your logic isn't there. If your staff has to be there before you (boss), why isn't the keys with them?Originally posted by Vigelic:I guess at the end of the whole episode, the ones complaining may not have the time to appreciate what the few people have done..
Imagine yourself as a stall owner with 10 staff and u are the one with the keys to open the stall every morning. one fine day, mrt got this happen.. u had a meeting for a $5,000 contract (not million.. if not u wuld be driving / taking taxis) and u missed it because of this whole incident which could have been handled better.
worse, your competitor arrived to grab the contract. by the time u got there 1 and a half hours later, u realise u suffered huge losses, your competitor is smiling away, your customer hates u and is gonna complain about YOU and your staff wants to claim OT since they waited so long n later must work extra hours..
how would YOU feel? note that ur own customer just threatened to complain abt u to the newspaper as well.. do u think ur customer cares whether ur train broke down? so YOU in turn, will complain abt the train! -.-
Precisely. They only care for themselves and not for the rest. Err, i think he is 16 this year. I have to agree with you on this. It can be very frustrating to be late no matter what the reason is and when SMRT could have done more with regards to this incident.Originally posted by RU4127T:no complaint = no improvements in the co.

i cant help but to laugh. yeah i guess those one-session weekly lessons has served their purpose.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Perhaps our CME/NE has a great success on Oceane ba
eh u read again.. i said u're the one who opens it every morning.. so u're the first one there every morning for the past 5 years.. but u couldn't make it in time today because of what happened to the train network..Originally posted by Oceane:Your logic isn't there. you can keep your cool because you have no LIABILITY.Originally posted by Oceane:I was affected.
I didn't complain.
I kept my cool.
You?
if u hate the train, but u have to go from pasir ris to city hall in 40mins (if u dun make it u get fired), AND you only have enough money to take the train (not enuff for taxi), u still walk?Originally posted by Oceane:Precisely. My advice to those people: If you hate the train, WALK. If you are still taking the train, that means you don't hate it. Cos if not, shut the hell up.
eh.. frm wat i see hor, ppl take train is bcoz there is simply no other way lehx. they can onli suck tumb squeeze the train.Originally posted by Oceane:My advice to those people: If you hate the train, WALK. Seems that Cat. High has done a great job in that area. School shld be proud of him.Originally posted by sinicker:i cant help but to laugh. yeah i guess those one-session weekly lessons has served their purpose.
actually, i've been watching Oceane and i just do not comment on him.
this is life. people with various characteristics are all around us.
I've never said I was a SMRT fan. Which part of my posts did say?Originally posted by RU4127T:eh.. frm wat i see hor, ppl take train is bcoz there is simply no other way lehx. they can onli suck tumb squeeze the train.
do not always think smrt until that great. actual fact is, they arent.
and now who is the person who is losing his cool ? dont forget, tis is a forum where we r here to discuss abt diff things. not a school whereby u r the teacher n we have to listen to u. so wat if u r a smrt fan ? n knows great stuffs abt train ? from what i see, u actually know nothing at all.
Hor... After even I said that I didn't lost my temper, you try to turn things the other way round?Originally posted by Vigelic:you can keep your cool because you have no LIABILITY.
where were you going? when u arrived late, what were your consequences?
compare this with everyone else..
Then, why hate the train?Originally posted by Vigelic:if u hate the train, but u have to go from pasir ris to city hall in 40mins (if u dun make it u get fired), AND you only have enough money to take the train (not enuff for taxi), u still walk?
Yes, I agree. I know SMRT MANAGEMENT did not do a good job (again) this time. But what is frustrating is that people blame it on the drivers.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Err, i think he is 16 this year. I have to agree with you on this. eh? quit contradicting urself.Originally posted by Oceane:Then, why hate the train?
The choice is yours what. You can always choose to take the taxis if you hate the train. If you have no choice, then what more do you have to say?
It's really sad to see Singapore prosper as a first-world country, but in turn the Singaporeans become too pampered. There are already a number of babies in this forum here. Really, pathetic.
