cool.. i was wondering why there was a train with the maintenance train at the end of pasir ris station (i stay at pasir ris)

anyway the maint truck hit onto something (wat's there in the morning?) out of tampines WB and the front cab sunk. they just tow it back to tampines in case it rains, due to hot weather and that u can't couple and push forward cos the front smashed.
the front cab, window got crack, panel below it came off, radiator bracket hanging.
from SBST we have 982Z, 3652A, 974R, 3573U NAC.
TIB925P, 1107C, 1165J, 974Y, 1099S, 448A, 815Z, 1184D, 446E.
as i'm typing now, the maint truck being tow back to changi by 313/314.

what's NAC? non air con ah? what's so shocking abt that?
and i couldn't understand how did SBST get involved.. was it a government thing or a head of SMRT asking head of SBST for help? or SBST offered help in goodwill? or SMRT paid SBS for 30 buses or what?
and hmm.. today muz be a very headache day for SMRT.. luckily no one chose to jump today.. if not double headache.. -

Actually, most of the eastbound service on the line was affected. Noticed that the frequency dropped (probably due to the bottleneck at Tanah Merah). Had to wait 7 trains before I could board at Clementi, as such, was late for work by 30 minutes. Spent about that much of time trying to get onto a train.
Did Changi services switch platforms so that the mainline train could use the centre platform?
And did SMRT continue cross-line service from the North South Line in the morning?
I suppose if worst comes to worst, they would need to use a crane to lift the train off the track so that the normal passenger train can be returned to revenue service. Keep us updated, this should be the once in a blue moon happening. -
Crane to lift the train up would be quite rare I say...
Its quite heavy... Need a 500 ton class crane to do the job...
Ah yes, the machine should be used for 'Grinding', just visited Speno International's webbie... Or else I wun have chance to go lols... -

Eh how old is that Speno RR 16 M-2? i search internet can onli find M10, P.D. etc. but no M-2.. its for rail-grinding? hmm what's the purpose of rail-grinding?
and is there actually any word specifically about what happened to that railgrinder last night? how did it get stuck there? =\
smrt has a train with a crane rite.. i rmb seeing it once.. hmm.. so what are they gonna do tonight? anyone going to skip sleep tonight after mrt operation hours to take video / photos of the recovery operation? lol. -
If they push the train complement with the Speno Rail Grinder infront it might screw up everything when the cab drop off or anything like that...
The front is already weakened, they would try something else.
I suppose that the rail crane cannot be used in this case, its too small and only used for lifting rails. -
According to CNA, "Residents living next to the MRT tracks where the disruption occurred, told Channel NewsAsia that they heard a loud sound on the tracks before dawn. SMRT said there were some damages to the maintenance works train."
Any idea what time this occured? Did the railgrinder collide into another maintenance train?
