Speculative maps on future MRT plans

wow, when those maps are completely realised.....how much would it cost to ride...5 dollars? or 10.
I used to tell my japanese friends how simple are uncomplicated our train maps are....time to tell them otherwise. -
japanese lines are more difficult to master because
1. trains from different lines can pull up at the same platform
2. many suburban lines have through-train services to other subway lines inside the city itself (due to space constraints, of course)
3. many different type of services are run on the same line, like limited express, express, semi-express, rapid, local.
4. some of the fare structure might be different due to the type of train you choose to take (additional express charge to be shown to inspector on train) -

a user on that forum called Nov has added in new lines to the future MRT map posted on LTA's website, including the rumoured seletar line & thomson line. he has also extended the EWL from Joo Koon to tuas, and from changi airport (terminal 1,2,3) to further onwards. view the map here. though it isnt as professional looking as the one posted by the RI guy on wiki, i must applaud him for his hard work.
side note to novawin: no offence, but is it you on that forum? -

the same person who edited the first map has uploaded a second, updated map, which includes a Holland Line and station names for the seletar line and the thomson (thompson?) line. click on the link above to read forum users' views on the station names/ locations. once again, thanks to user Nov for the time and effort to edit the map.

Yeah. Look good. But I anyhow feel Singapore is very slow in achieving its objective of creating world-class public transportation. You see Hongkong MTR map. Their public transportation network is excellent with strong backbone network. How I wish that Singapore will have DTL and CCL ready along with NSL, EWL and NEL in 2000. Then it will be almost accessibility in everywhere. It is all because of Nicoll Highway collapse, CCL opening date has been pushed back to 2010 with full operational by 2011. DTL won't be ready until after 2013.
Anyway, I hope DTL construction will be carried out as smooth asap and don't wish to see another incident like Nicoll highway incident. The actual construction of DTL Stage 1 even have not started yet. They are currently doing the diverting of Common Shared Tunnel underneath the road at Cross Street right now before they start constructing DTL. Not sure about Bayfront and Landmark if the construction for DTL has already started... -
hmm but where do they get their sources from? the location and number of stations and interchanges etc..
and i agree that the nov guy's work has to be polished.. and i wish the network would include sentosa express n all.. -

Then they plan where the location & number of Stations/Inerchanges/Lines -

lol if you ever been to bukit panjang, you will see that there are no space to build MRT system near bukit panjang LRT.
Well, if they do build it, i think it might be good. Or maybe not.
I suppose they are gonna tunnel it if they are gonna build the MRTs.
Maybe in near future, we will have underground HDB flats.
