Anyway, if I remember this correctly, it has been reported in the news sometime early last year. And the article's contents are somewhat strikingly similar!
but right, the ERL's link to marina parade is gone for v3Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:its kinda obvious that version1 is the oldest and version 3 is the most recent...
version 1 is wrong cos ERL and BTL is gonna be 1 whole line and there cant be 2 different operators
version 2 abit off cos CCL isnt the same as DTL...
version 3 is most plausible...
damn old already leh these pics

DTL go SBS better!Originally posted by Manager433:Dun any how upload railway system route map please. Contract not yet awarded to service operator.
I rather SMRT to be DTL operator.Originally posted by Y_Shun:DTL go SBS better!
whether or not, Bus services sure will be withdrawn due to MRT rationalising exercise.(they want ppl take MRT, not bus)Originally posted by Novawin™:I rather SMRT to be DTL operator.
If you allow SBS to be DTL operator, SBS will withdraw many of their bus service that duplicate the route along DTL.
SBS should stick to NEL since SMRT not keen in taking over the NEL operation.
And I would say the chance of SMRT becoming DTL operator is 90% cos when DTL Stage 1 is ready, the train used for CCL will be deployed to DTL as DTL Stage 1 does not have its depot yet.
I know SBS wanted people to take NEL train so SBS withdrew those bus services duplicating route along NEL. But you have to think of Singapore population growth... It is getting overcrowding already.Originally posted by Y_Shun:whether or not, Bus services sure will be withdrawn due to MRT rationalising exercise.(they want ppl take MRT, not bus)
just like when NS/EW line opened, many SBS bus also axed even though they not operating the mrt lines.
That time, MRTC was a statutory board, and SBS was quite closely linked to the government, it was most probably a government sanctioned thing, different situation if you compare it with now.Originally posted by Y_Shun:whether or not, Bus services sure will be withdrawn due to MRT rationalising exercise.(they want ppl take MRT, not bus)

axeing duplication... talk about ""integrated transport""... the duopoly should never have happened...Originally posted by Novawin™:I know SBS wanted people to take NEL train so SBS withdrew those bus services duplicating route along NEL. In case you do not know this, DTL train will have only 3 carriages. So all DTL station size will be half of the NSL/EWL station size. We can expect overcrowding as Singapore population is increasing over time. I am not saying that SMRT "should be" but I feel that it is better for SMRT to be DTL operator so to encourage SBS to keep running bus services along DTL to balance the rapidly-grown population taking public transport.
You will never know when Singapore population reach 6 million in 2020. Public transport will be overcrowded already by that time.
It's already confirmed by LTA that DTL train will have only 3 carriage when it was reported in news back 2 or 3 years ago. Cos due to ban on sand import from Indonesia and high costs of constructing underground, LTA decided to build only 3-car station box for DTL. Don't forget that DTL will be interchanged with CCL at Promenade station sharing the same platform stack so DTL and CCL will have same station box size.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:axeing duplication... talk about ""integrated transport""... the duopoly should never have happened...
anyway how're u so sure the DTL has a station box for 3 car trains?
i always thought 3 is a really pathetic number... having at least 4 is marginally acceptable... unless the train frequencies are like 2 mins...
