I think the government's initial decision of six carriages is not very sufficient I would say. Replying to the reader's opinion, its quite impossible lah, tt many would know.
Eight with provision for ten carriages would be a good idea for a system consisting of the existing lines except for the Circle Line, which itself four with provision for six carriage will do good.

Well the idea of extending the platforms seems very impossible and inefficient, but what about adding more carriages to the trains? Is it so wrong to have a carriage or two sticking out from the platform? There wouldn't be need for extra doors, passengers can enter from the current platforms and then move towards the extra carriages. Surely that is feasible?

can. but not many people will want to move into the extra carriages as it wont be easy to squash their way through other passengers to another carriage to alight. so it wont really help much. if SMRT is really prepared to spend the money and invest in the technology to extend platforms AND get new trains with more carriages, it wont be cheap and lots of taxpayer money will be spent on this. and be prepared to pay higher fares as well

expand tracks a bit unrealistic.. but they can have more of those short distance trains?

like now for north south lines they got jurong east to marina bay and yishun to marina bay?

maybe they can get 1 more amk to marina?

at yishun... sometimes cannot go in de... not to mention at later stations...
