Is sleeping or sitting on the train's floor a problem?

If you see stomp, got lots of posts about people sitting on the floor near the door or even sitting...
If its was me, if the guy/girl/group did not cause any inconvenience, genuine inconvenience not possible inconvenience, then just leave them alone...
But it seems that a lot of Singaporeans think that its an issue...
So my question is, what the issue?
Or is it just stompers issue -_-" ? -

Maybe we should discuss base on North East Line since doors opens on the same side all the while?

TS, if you step into a train without its a/c or vent switch on, I swear you'll look for the nearest exit and dash out in less than 1 second. Trust me. The smell origin from the floor.

they piss me off
standing up takes lesser space than sitting down leh -
i have to say that i really saw youngsters siting at the exit side. they dont even bother to move away when ppl are entering or exiting.. some are listening to super loud music.. you will have to "shout" excuse me to be heard...
sometimes, during peak hours, there are lot of ppl... by siting down, even not at the exit side, those ppl are aldy occupying more space than if they are standing up... seeing so many ppl in the train, they still didnt bother to stand..
other than that, if they didnt cause inconvenience, i m ok with them siting on the floor. -
Let's just make this clear once and for all. Sitting near the doors is strictly prohibited in the train. Regardless of whether it is off-peak or during peak. SMRT even put a long strip of sticker above it's doors saying "KEEP CLEAR OF DOORS" (some more in all 4 languages). Now which part of that sentence do people not understand? Apparently it's the part "KEEP CLEAR".
And, for once and for all,
SMRT train =/= your bed.
SMRT train =/= first class luxury Konsortium bus that got bed for you to sleep.
SMRT train = commuter train whereby they fetch you from Point A to Point B.
SMRT train = standing or sitting on seats allowed only since it's a passenger train.
SMRT train = train, not private bed in a cozy home.
If I do see anyone sleeping in front of me I won't hesistate to trample over him. If everyone sleeps on the train how are people going to board? Train doors open only you see the floor lined up with people lying on the floor. -

dover is also left side in EWL. city hall for NSL and EWL to marina bay and pasir ris, left side. raffles place for NSL and EWL to jurong east and pasir ris, left side. jurong east, both side. As long as there is space to enter/exit /move around the train, not a problem for me.

Do the maths, when you sit down, you take up more floor area compared to when you're standing so less people can go into the train, not to mention you'll be fixated and unable to move around should someone needs to cross by, multiply that by more passengers and you get the idea. But this reason will not apply if someone can step on top of the sitting passengers head who sits on the MRT floor, then nobody should complain because it's no longer the floor area issue, the passenger has the same volume and whether they are standing or sitting. The problem is we cannot step on the sitting passenger's head, so any space on top of them is wasted, not to mention the wider floor area taken up.
