  Sad... the nearest crossover is at Newton SB > NB Crossover 100m off SB. Means if service were to resume trains have to stop midway through the tunnel and turnaround use the SB > NB crossover.
  
  Speaking of sparks... I did see sparks at Raffles Place today. You can try finding my post in the long thread here.

  No no. The problem is getting trains to run northbound between Marina Bay and Orchard, and you need to have supply of trains from the southbound or eastbound side.
  
  Turning the southbound trains back will only jam up the northbound tracks.

  If those two trains can crossover then good what... but anyways service also resume from NEW onwards.

  Just now when i alight at Ang Mo Kio, the southbound train was not moving & the other train was at the back....
  
  Suddenly the announcement came along:
  Ur Attention please, due to a faulty track problem, train service will be delayed by 5 minutes.... That ws around 6.20 pm

  Crossover will only cause more trains running wastefully along NB stations where the traffic is not concentrated at, with less trains on standby when SB resumes service, especially when the majority of passengers are being stuck in town areas. Moreover, since the delay is expected to less only more than an hour, the trains should stay put.
  
  And frankly, there are more than just 2 trains waiting behind the closed section.
