I even met an enthu TO last time... every station when it reaches, it would blare the announcement:
[b]Your attention please, for the comfort of the other passengers, please move to the centre of the car.
Something like that.
Then before closing doors... he would sound the *Warning* beep 3~4 times before doing the standard *Door closing* announcement.
Enthu sia.

Mine was the TO always close door already then when the doors are about 3/4 close, he will reopen the doors again. He did this for quite a few stations during my trip from Tampines to Jurong East. Most probably he spotted some people rushing for the train and was kind enough to reopen the doors for them. Some stations he even did it twice.
