I boarded an Mrt Train From boonlay yesterday, and was kinda shocked when the traindriver used the intercom to greet the passangers like the pilots of the plane do before they take flight.

I even met an enthu TO last time... every station when it reaches, it would blare the announcement:
Your attention please, for the comfort of the other passengers, please move to the centre of the car.
Something like that.
Then before closing doors... he would sound the *Warning* beep 3~4 times before doing the standard *Door closing* announcement.
Enthu sia.
Btw that one was a couple of weeks ago, on board 209/210 at Lavender EB. -

Mine was the TO always close door already then when the doors are about 3/4 close, he will reopen the doors again. He did this for quite a few stations during my trip from Tampines to Jurong East. Most probably he spotted some people rushing for the train and was kind enough to reopen the doors for them. Some stations he even did it twice.

Erm for your case... don't know whether is the TO really good heart... or he new to being a TO and scared the doors KIAP people...
Got one time a few months back... this siao lang kia TO... arriving at station normally TO will just smoothly brake till 0km/h.
But this TO... slowing down... then suddenly brake hard (Or we call it "zamm" brake )...
Then everybody all op-balance.
If I remember correctly, it was 081/082. -
if train spoilt (eg lights, AC not working) TO will also make manual announcement

Ahem. I think some TOs do this.
Note the words on the yellow thingy. Some or one TO from EWL read the words to the pax. Like airplane type announcement.
