A man was injured in an accident along the MRT tracks of Clementi Station at about 1pm on Friday (20 July).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said he is conscious and has been warded at the National University Hospital.
STOMPer Ronlee was at Clementi Station at the time of the incident and sent these photos to STOMP shortly after it happened.
In an email to STOMP, the 22-year-old Singapore Polytechnic student gave his account of what could have happened:
"It was 1pm - 1.15pm. I was at Clementi Station waiting for the train towards Boon Lay when the incident happened.
"Someone fell onto the track...It happened so fast," he said.
It affected the train service (towards Boon Lay) for about 20 minutes and there was no train service towards Pasir Ris.
"The firefighters arrived at about 1.25pm - 1.35pm and they started to block the area to prevent people from getting close to the area.
"When my train arrived, I saw firefighters trying to take out the person."
The STOMPer suggested that SMRT act fast to improve safety and upgrade its above-ground stations with more barriers.
"More people are choosing/accidently to die at the MRT...SBS and SMRT had so many incidents nowadays. Please do something," he said.
