dun worry.Originally posted by MyPillowTalks:I HAVE 3 IDEAS TO STOP MRT ACCIDENTS:
one way:
then train can travel faster at the tracks, but must slow down so slow that it can stop veri fast when entering the station, so when ppl jump down, can stop in time
another way:
a sensor can be put on the tracks, once it sence there ish sometime there, the power can automatically cut off, so in case ppl lie there, will not get hit by the train.
another way:
mirrors can be put at opposite side of the tracks where it will reflect the underside of the platform which ppl stand, so ppl can see is there anyone hiding there, and if there ish, can stop the train
hope mrt ppl see these ideas and improvise them.
i really think it will help

for em to kill emselves.
at least PillowTalks idea as feasible. better than MRT farking replies "too expensive to build gates or put up more camera"Originally posted by MyPillowTalks:I HAVE 3 IDEAS TO STOP MRT ACCIDENTS:

i think they want to see the jumping action slow motion
dats the whole point, they want to show their point before dying.Originally posted by wonderamazement:But not at the expense of affecting others with their act...
You ought to write your suggestions on the feedback forms found at all MRT stations & drop it into the feedback box so they can review & see if your ideas are of good useOriginally posted by MyPillowTalks:I HAVE 3 IDEAS TO STOP MRT ACCIDENTS:

MAN HIT BY TRAIN DIES
A man died after being hit by a train
at the Paya Lebar MRT station at
about 10.20am yesterday.
Police said the victim, a 52-yearold
Chinese, was pronounced dead
by paramedics at 10.45am.
Investigations are under way.
East-bound services were disrupted
for 41 minutes.
Of the 288 cases of track intrusions
since 1991, 206 were intentional.
To address this, operator
SMRT started to work with suicideprevention
organisation the
Samaritans of Singapore last year
to train its staff to look out for signs
of distress among commuters.
The Land Transport Authority is
also reviewing safety provisions at
MRT stations. - GRACIA CHIANG
Worst still- the whole family may jump cos they cannot pay the fine.Originally posted by sinicker:mirrors and whatsoever wouldnt work. if the person want to jump, he will jump at the last possible second so that the train couldnt stop in time and he would be hit at high speed.
shud FINE the family members of the person committing suicide! make it $100, 000.
eh. u might lame leh. 1st way, say is say slowly la. nice to see. but if realli litdat. u think pple wun dulan? 2nd way, sensor, sensor put whr? on track? if a bird just happen to fly till there how? what if pple drop items on to e track? stop e whole mrt? n somemore, even if put sensor, pple jump down liao, mrt power connection break. u noe what is breaking distance? u mrt is so long n heavy, u got study physics? u noe what is force? 3rd, put mirrors, u think so easy? put whr? let pple see upskirt ar? pls think b4 u talk. tis was one of our secondary projects so many year ago. n we came up with better things than urs. -.-Originally posted by MyPillowTalks:I HAVE 3 IDEAS TO STOP MRT ACCIDENTS:

Mind sharing with us wat type of Train involved in this incident?Originally posted by FireAndHell:Yup, man ran over by train at Paya Lebar station. Managed to get a glimpse of the "after action" when I was in the train heading west.
Here's the "after action" report : Was in a train travelling west, train stopped at Paya Lebar station to allow ppl to alight. [Train heading west was not affected by the disruption, only those heading to Pasir Ris]. Train idled for almost 2 mins at the station, with all doors wide open. Wow! Ppl in this train get to ogle at the scene. But......nothing much to see. By this time, the person have been extracted and wrapped up like a mummy in white and place on the extreme western part of the platform... Still some mrt and civil defence ppl were observed cleaning the under side of the front coach of the train. End of "after action" report.
My guess is they have to wrapped the person up like mummy, so his insides do not leak or spill out. Most likely, this chap must have been partly sliced by them steel wheels of the train, that makes sense for them mrt and civil defence ppl busily cleaning the bottom of the coach...hmm...maybe i am wrong...hmmm....
This guy sure knows about train momentum. Cos he must've jumped at the section of the platform where the train is still coasting at about 45-60kmh. So the impact will be instantanous and leaving the driver with very little time to react. Even so, the momentum of the train will ensure the chap got an instant ticket to the next life........smart move......so little or no suffering on his part.
I saw the police too... but it is not report in the news?Originally posted by Joshua1975:at paya lebar.
1 Chinese man age 50+ jump. Mati liao.
we are going to see more of this in SG.
Then again... good points raised...Originally posted by Ito_^:dats the whole point, they want to show their point before dying.
if under the assumption dat singaporeans only care about themselves, than the only thing that is gonna get their 5 second worth of attention is doing something that affects them.
