A Straits Times editorial noted MRT extensions will be a “milestone in better living.” With respect to transport, which quality of life aspect is most important to you?
1) Affordability
2) Accessibility
3) Efficiency -
To me personally, efficiency is the most important. Affordability comes next and finally accessibility.

Efficiency... i'm always in a rush...
same la followed by affordability then accessability...
usually trains run up to many popular places so i guess accessability isnt much of a problem... -
i dont care abt the extension.. i jus wan more trains during peak hours..

None of the above. Its public transport owned by private company to generate large profits at minimal service.

Except for early morning trains, the punctuality is based on the timing of the TO that left the depot. -

I just learnt from my colleague,public transport is not the cheapest one.Riding motor bike is definitely cheaper,imagine one litre of petrol get travel 40km.Honda cub even more efficient .But due to safety reason,most Singaporeans avoid motor bike.May be i will get a bike licence at the age of 50.

and anyway comfortability also depends on the number of passengers. i assure you our mrt is pretty comfortable if you ahve a seat and its not too crowded; but normally its overcrowded and you won't get any seats.
hmmz any one noticed they got new buses that has less seats so they can squeeze mroe pple in and make better profits? -
the buses have bigger aisle so that wheelchair can go in lah bodo...

Hmm... To me efficiency should be first followed by speed, availability and comfort. No ones like a train service that has a bad frequency and I can tell you a thing although London Underground (London Metro) everyday has delays or maintenance works going or signal failure, they are still able to run service properly with 2 to 3 mins per train usually and 3 - 5 mins around 1pm to 3pm.

Although Mass transit trains/stations in places like London, Hong KongÂ…etc are old, but their efficiency are very good, much better then SMRT.
Our system looks good on the external but not the internal. -

IIRC, the Nicoll Hwy collapse made the surrounding area structurally unsound. This is what happens when you try to dig too far underneath reclaimed land. -
global warming has made the sea level rising. wonder wat effect will this have on our tunnelling work...

Won't have much effect usually Underground Tunnel and stations have a stronger structure and material than the elevated ones. And Yes London Metro is old, underground stations without PED and one of the line smells like drain cause it runs underneath River Thames. It is still good, the government thinks ahead and extended the train carriage as necessary or needed in the future. Plus they go for Alstom!

In fact we can smell the drain smell in all the underground stations tunnel, refering here to those without screen doors.
I just love it, you can sence the trains closer to you when it is not blocked by those doors. Always like those platforms without doors.
And the heat when the train dashed out of the tunnel...
