Well, P1 is at the least amount of power given and that was the gear that drivers use in depots. P4, is the highest and not used as it could jolted passengers. B is braking current. Ever saw train break before they enter the station? They used Emergency Brake and if you are a TO, don't use it. Passengers would be struggling to stand in the train.
If you guys want a try on the simulator, go to:
www.realrailway.com
Better change the option of language to English as the site is mainly Japanese. Go to Simulators and tada! You can choose whether to download the sim or play online.
P.S: A taste of real train driver life
i use BVE.
i'm not sure about ur screen but u're right, they show the pressure in the brake lines in the train sim and not ammeter. in real life i cannot confirm for JR's trains since i need to go back to tokyo and see.
frankly speaking, EMG is not a good option in there. it is more effective than max service brake at lower speeds but less effective at high speeds. and u have to wait for the pressure to be released if u overshot.
