I saw a retrofitted train on EWL, bound for Boon Lay, at Dover Station on 2 Feb, Fri, 6:18 pm. Too bad I was in the train of the opposite direction.Originally posted by SBS9889U:I dint even get to see the real train itself yet SMRT should deploy a few of them on EWL!
I can make assumption that it must be 005/006 train you seen because it was on 2 Feb where I took that train coming out of Bishan depot heading towards Pasir Ris in the morning.Originally posted by kenneth88:I saw a retrofitted train on EWL, bound for Boon Lay, at Dover Station on 2 Feb, Fri, 6:18 pm. No WONDER I SAW 2 consecutive retrofitted trains northbound at Khatib Station today. Almost thought I would catch it since the train would U TURN at Yishun. But to my dismay a non retrofitted one arrived. Guess it takes super long like 3 or 4 trains after it leaves Khatib before it u turns and arrives at Khatib again.Originally posted by Novawin™:This morning at 7.53am, 083/084 train heading for Yishun arrived at AMK MRT station. Then 2 minutes later (7.55am), the next train, 001/002 train heading for Pasir Ris arrived at AMK station too. Both came out from Bishan depot.
Boarded 001/002 train today!
079/080 are permanently coupled together, so the train you was on had set 079 and set 080 together.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:079/080 is on NSL. In the morning, it's going towards Pasir Ris (stopping at Jurong East before moving towards Pasir Ris) for 080. Unsure for 079, never take 079 before.
Took that one a few weeks ago.
Oh... I see.Originally posted by Scania:079/080 are permanently coupled together, so the train you was on had set 079 and set 080 together.
not true... carriages are permanantly joined in 3 sets of carriages. the connector right in the middle of the train is not permanant and can be disconnected... by right the trains should be coupled according to serial number... i.e an odd number and the next even number...Originally posted by Scania:079/080 are permanently coupled together, so the train you was on had set 079 and set 080 together.
That only occurs when there is something wrong with one of the carriages and they can replace that. Otherwise, usually, it is coupled permanently.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:not true... carriages are permanantly joined in 3 sets of carriages. the connector right in the middle of the train is not permanant and can be disconnected... by right the trains should be coupled according to serial number... i.e an odd number and the next even number...
but i saw for a couple of times (quite long ago) carraiges coupled wrongly... as in the 2 halves are not adjacent numbers... unlike 79/80... cant rmb the numbers though but have seen it occur twice
Once i saw 080/128 coupled together. =)Originally posted by Novawin™:

Can you kindly check the previous post in this thread? Someone said 089/090, not me ..... k. So that's why I just added this in the list blindly... and recently i checked and confirmed it's not refurbished train.Originally posted by Oceane:You sure 089/090? Thats the Giordano Yellow Train.
080/128? Has it been in service before? Before 080 is refurbished?Originally posted by Oceane:Once i saw 080/128 coupled together. =)
ya... i saw it pulling out of yishun towards MB. =)Originally posted by Novawin™:080/128? Has it been in service before? Before 080 is refurbished?
Your suggestion is very good. It will help clear up all confusions and also to clarify the issue better.Originally posted by SBS9889U:What about this?
Post queries here (Eg : Unsure if XXX Train has been refurbished)
Post confirmed spottings in the other thread (Eg : XXX has been refurbished, seen on XXX line...)
You added them in wiki yourself? If yes, I am wondering why 079/080 not in the list? I have not seen it but someone said in his another post he saw it on NSL few days ago. Can you verify and confirm 079/080 is indeed refurbished?Originally posted by littlearea:There is a page in wikipedia about refurbished trains.
