The morning peak trains are actually quite punctual. If you are regular train user and a punctual one, you should be able to board the train that has the same train number.Originally posted by ignoramus2006:sometimes i wonder whats the point of finding out the timings if we dont know what timing to base it upon. The clock at MRT stations or TELETEXT or CNA time? And nothing runs on time anyway.

Morning trains are extremely punctual, and they wait for no one.Originally posted by ignoramus2006:sometimes i wonder whats the point of finding out the timings if we dont know what timing to base it upon. The clock at MRT stations or TELETEXT or CNA time? And nothing runs on time anyway.
If you mean the empty trains, yes.Originally posted by sinicker:the trains during peak hr is punctual one.
just some ppl not punctual then they die2 want to catch the train and put their whole body in between the doors when it's closing already.
Same train number, but different trains. Sat 3 different generations of trains with the same train number.Originally posted by stituss:The morning peak trains are actually quite punctual. it crosses at jurong east, not city hall.Originally posted by dennisneo:You mean the train goes from Sembawang directly to Pasir Ris? No need to cross platform. Woah...I guess it pass thru city hall then cuts to the EW line?
No mention of it on the SMRT site.
thanks for the reply. But IMHO, go via jurong east is actually longer distance than going by raffles place.Originally posted by ^tamago^:it crosses at jurong east, not city hall.
it is also possible to do a cross from southbound to westbound and eastbound to northbound at raffles place, but no such service exists ever since the bugis station opened.....
jus inquiring on the history i've always wondered...Originally posted by ^tamago^:it crosses at jurong east, not city hall.

non-peak hour trains are also puntual. i used to have a systematic schedule when taking MRT and the train i was waiting for back in those days (TRN 052) always came at exactly 1307hrs and the next (TRN 059) came at 1313hrs on the dot...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Morning trains are extremely punctual, and they wait for no one.
NS line not so accurate for off-peak hours... their 3 mins = 5 minsOriginally posted by SMRT 32373238:non-peak hour trains are also puntual. i used to have a systematic schedule when taking MRT and the train i was waiting for back in those days (TRN 052) always came at exactly 1307hrs and the next (TRN 059) came at 1313hrs on the dot...

yes, the trains run direct from YCK to OTP using the crossover at RFP.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:jus inquiring on the history i've always wondered...
was city hall to outram park that stretch considered NS line back in 1988?
meaning trains ran direct from YCK down to OTP...???
cos if i didnt rmb wrongly the archives stated opening of 2nd phase of SMRT from Novena to Outram Park...
option 1 is definitely the fastest. for me, through train or not is not as issue, reducing the travel time by boarding the first available is.Originally posted by softmetal:Thanks for the information. It helps.
I am actually evaluating which route to take from Sembawang to Jln Bukit Merah,
I have 3 options,
1. Take express train and change to 147, 196 n 198 at Commonwealth.
2. Take train to Woodlands and change to 961 via bukit timah road.
3. Take train/bus to Yishun and change to 855.
Still yet to find out.
For the time being, option one seems good, exept the crowd...
Anyone any thoughts ? thanks.
thanks... so u can officially say that for abt a year city hall to outram park stretch was under NSL? or was the line already blue & green on the system?Originally posted by ^tamago^:yes, the trains run direct from YCK to OTP using the crossover at RFP.
