the current 8-station line will eventually become a 12-station line, and the next station south of tsoying will be kaohsiung. in the future, the kaohsiung mass rapid transit system will also terminate at tsoying, as this station will be the transportation hub for the metropolitan area of kaohsiung.
most journeys will take 2 hours as it will stop at every stop, but 3 limited express services will be operated at around 7am, 5pm and 9pm in both directions (6 trips a day) that will only take 90 mins, stopping only at taichung station.
indeed, they are marrying japanese rolling stocks with germany signalling systems, because of some stupid agreement. if it were a turnkey project organised solely by KHI, it'd have been faster and won't need so much testing. -

the official type name for the taiwan shinkansen is 700T.

700 Series
N700 Series, to be commissioned this summer on the Nozomi service between Tokyo and Osaka, replacing the 500 and 700 series on this route. The train does not have a higher top-speed (300kph), but enables the train to travel at full speed for more sections of the route (the curves). sometimes u can say 700T is the marriage of the 500 and N700 series.
500 series is used on the Nozomi Super Express service between Tokyo and Osaka.
