i DO remember teachers (and even school counsellors) saying things like 'dont commit suicide cos its stupid, selfish, doesnt solve the problem, etc'Originally posted by SBS9889U:National Education must include dont sucide at MRT Stn or better still dun suicide at all.
Sorry to hear thatOriginally posted by fudgester:One of my best friends took that route two years ago.
Actually I think they don't actually plan their deaths for some?Originally posted by maurizio13:Don't think they really bother about those people killing themselves, they just worry about how much money they can get.
There are lots of ways people wanting to die can kill themselves. Why choose MRT tracks? First, it's owned by the government, they want to make a statement to the government, that their policy farking suxx.
If I wanted to die, I would have chosen pills because it's less gory. Unless I want to make a statement to somebody, like the government, then I would choose the MRT tracks.
Hehehe
I think next time they would step up security up MRT liao, but hard to secure so much of the tracks.
Sad to hear that.Originally posted by elindra:Actually I think they don't actually plan their deaths for some?
Depression can cause you to do things you normally wouldn't do
I mean you can just look out of the window and think it's good to jump down
Or in this case, look at the on-coming train and think that it's a good idea to throw yourself in front of it.
Like my friend's brother who just killed himself, he has a good job, a nice family but is suffering from depression due to stress
He is on medication but just decided to end it all one day... no suicide notes, nothing.
they prolly got sent for councellingOriginally posted by SBS9889U:Sad to hear that.
I wonder how the train drivers would feel after knocking a person dead.

esp the first two months...cos its USUALLY when people are starting to feel a lil better, then they go commit suicide. and erm...cant remember where i read it from, but most people do plan their suicides...
If fining is so effective, there would be no more litterbugs in Singapore.Originally posted by TehJarVu:are they going to fine the family of the deceased if this continues?
This sounds so encouraging but eventually there is no escape from the grim reaper itself.Originally posted by udontknowme:i DO remember teachers (and even school counsellors) saying things like 'dont commit suicide cos its stupid, selfish, doesnt solve the problem, etc'
but you know what, those who are thinking of suicide ALREADY KNOW ALL THAT SHIT!!!
wrong way to 'teach' people to not commit/attempt suicide
i think it would be better if people were taught more about how to recognize and deal with someone who is depressed. telling someone who is suicidal and depressed that 'there is light at the end of the tunnel, happiness is a choice, think positive' is NOT what you should tell someone who is suicidal
Imposing fines on the family is like adding oil to the flame.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:If fining is so effective, there would be no more litterbugs in Singapore.
I heard of this. The post-recovery phase is the most vital part, and the patient usually may seem unusually cheerful or overtly calm.Originally posted by udontknowme:people who are on medication should always be closely monitored
