BUt e fella who commited sucide is probably causing massive economic losses in terms of loss of productivity.This is is due to employees going to work late
gosh,this would consequently slow down economic growth man 
Also,SMRT wld probably incur losses in chartering buses and refunding communters
This may lead to fare hikes

it's horrible to witness someone falling from a building..to see your friend's mangled and twisted body and the feeling of regret inside of you telling yourself he could be saved if you came earlier

National Education must include dont sucide at MRT Stn or better still dun suicide at all.
Is the intention of not reporting suicide cases = let people forget them and dont suicide from MRT or to preserve "World Class Transport System"? -

wrong way to 'teach' people to not commit/attempt suicide
i think it would be better if people were taught more about how to recognize and deal with someone who is depressed. telling someone who is suicidal and depressed that 'there is light at the end of the tunnel,happiness is a choice,think positive' is NOT what you should tell someone who is suicidal -
Don't think they really bother about those people killing themselves, they just worry about how much money they can get.
There are lots of ways people wanting to die can kill themselves. Why choose MRT tracks? First, it's owned by the government, they want to make a statement to the government, that their policy farking suxx.
If I wanted to die, I would have chosen pills because it's less gory. Unless I want to make a statement to somebody, like the government, then I would choose the MRT tracks.

I think next time they would step up security up MRT liao, but hard to secure so much of the tracks. -

Depression can cause you to do things you normally wouldn't do
I mean you can just look out of the window and think it's good to jump down
Or in this case, look at the on-coming train and think that it's a good idea to throw yourself in front of it.
Like my friend's brother who just killed himself, he has a good job, a nice family but is suffering from depression due to stress
He is on medication but just decided to end it all one day... no suicide notes, nothing. -

people who are on medication should always be closely monitored
esp the first two months...cos its USUALLY when people are starting to feel a lil better, then they go commit suicide. and erm...cant remember where i read it from, but most people do plan their suicides... -

Solve the problems, don't solve the problems, you still get the grim reaper to check out on you.
I mean you can be positive and let it come naturally.... but then again no one is qualified to judge whether suicide is totally selfish and whether it justifies itself.... -

Wah just after saturday...less than 5 days apart.
It seems that SMRT is trying to go into disaster operation mode aka try to minimize disruptions and inconvinences. Previously, any accident would result in massive disruptions and delays.
The sad fact is that pple must choose something built for convinence to take their own lifes. I guess the only way forward is too install gate barriers on the all above-land stations.
The S'pore Govt will surely do it as it is the only way we can ensure our "fine" city. I pray for thoses who have lost their lifes and their families. -

It's not media cover up, it's government moving in fast. Media is under the government, not government under the media.
The first 2 cases probably got enough coverage that the government decides to shut the media up.
