I notice that on the NEL, especially at closing time, there is usually one chap driving the train. Thought it was supposed to automatic?
Furthermore, when there is this "driver" in the train, not only is the train slower, door more laggard, but even the stopping and alignment of the train seems difficult and flawed.
Are they in a hury to return that train back to the depot once it reaches Punggol? Strange huh.
Was sitting the NS line today quite last, and found it interesting that the last south bound train terminates at Toa Payoh, prob goes back to Bishan after that.

its a sort of regular training for the driver... they do it so that in cases where manual operation is needed then they have the experience... and they do it late cos its not during rush hour...

That is the only time when they can train drivers to drive the train. Other than that time, everyoen is in a rush. And trains with drivers for NEL tend to be late up to 3 minutes. That's bad.
