why do they care how the family is going to spend the 500k given to them?
the money is theirs already and they have the right to spend it as they deem fit. dont expect the family to justify their spending to every single donor. its ridiculous!!!
if you have not donated it is none of your business how they spend it.
if you have donated you shouldnt question how they plan to spend it. dont donate if you dont feel comfortable. -

I guess that SMRT would not install barriers that soon. I used to think this way too, shouting the need for barriers, but soon, I realised that installing would not do much good, the people can just walk outr through the platform ends and get killed in the same way.
Many of those access door are not locked.
Underground ones too, I once opened one at City Hall, around 2000-2001 when still a kid.
So if people are bent on suicide, its not barriers, not the public to stop them. Only social workers would be able to. -
my opinion.. a big NO to PSDs or PSGs... installation obviously creates ventilation probs... which means all elevated stns mus air-con... fans no use one... stop blaming the operator la u wanna put air-con in all its 35 elevated stations that runs at over 18hrs a day and hope for no fare hike... quite a hard bargain right? unless u wanna put PSDs at only the suicide stations la but that still retarded anyway
maybe the best way is still the uniquely singaporean way... impose fines on those bent on suicide!!!

Actually there isnt a need to build the "gates". It would be better for train drivers to slow down before entering the station so even if you jump also wont die. However your journey time may take a few seconds/minutes more -
