Why would they do that? IMF-related passengers would pay more for fares?Originally posted by sbst275:Thought they say improve MRT frequency during IMF
I think it's lagi lesser train
They already said it, they've better honour what they saidOriginally posted by Parka:Why would they do that? IMF-related passengers would pay more for fares?

Not trueOriginally posted by FireIce:they got chartered buses and BMWs wat
no need take train
Not very wise if they actually do that. No business sense and it wil definitely erode the goodwill (if there are any) of Singaporeans.Originally posted by sbst275:They already said it, they've better honour what they said
they are not advised to move around on their own bcos if anyting happen to them then singapore has to be responsible......tts why have to spend so much money and effort to ferry them here and there......Originally posted by sbst275:Not true
They could likely move around the island
That's why the recent bus deployment is really a joke
Yes, it's rather bad at Jurong East during rush hour. One thing which I just don't understand is why they have trains that terminate at Yew Tee during peak hours.Originally posted by ignoramus2006:Saturday 7am frequency at Yishun Station: 10 minutes. Longer than the average wait, but it can't be helped since its really early morning???
But when you think that in an hour only 6 trains pass by, it doesnt sound very subway-ish...
SMRT's policy is also to cram as many people as they can at Jurong East Station, where you alight to transfer from the North South Line but both sides of the train are flooded with people who don't let you alight. My worst experiences are always at Jurong East.
yes teacher.Originally posted by FireIce:they are not advised to move around on their own bcos if anyting happen to them then singapore has to be responsible......tts why have to spend so much money and effort to ferry them here and there......

Simi automatedOriginally posted by SMRT 32373238:well its saturday, no peak hour, 7am, trains are still coming out...
10mins not bad for 7am wat...
there was once normal afternoon i waited for NEL... 15mins... no accident or faults.. just normal 15 minutes... talk abt world's 1st automated line to "minimise human error"
i'm comparing the NSL to NEL, which is fully automated... getting a train in 10mins on the NSL/EWL should be excusable because the passenger demand varies between stations... and the drivers operate the train doors depending on the demand... accumulation of this could result in delays...Originally posted by sbst275:Simi automated
SMRT system is actually semi auto
There's things called glitchesOriginally posted by SMRT 32373238:i'm comparing the NSL to NEL, which is fully automated... getting a train in 10mins on the NSL/EWL should be excusable because the passenger demand varies between stations... and the drivers operate the train doors depending on the demand... accumulation of this could result in delays...
whereas my experience waiting for 15mins for a train was on NEL, not NSL.. and NEL is fully automated to 'minismise human error'... ironic huh hope u dont misunderstand me
hmmm... noted i'll see... btw, does anybody think NEL should have more trains, judging that its ridership has grown greatly? getting into a 4min-interval train during peak hours is quite difficult... and NEL's train-station ratio still kena owned by NSL/EWL with 25:16 and 106:51...Originally posted by sbst275:There's things called glitches
No No... The train door dwell time is sometimes abused, you go see Dhoby Ghaut
a lot of traffic transiting from EWL to bt batok, cck and yew tee.Originally posted by dakkon_blackblade:Yes, it's rather bad at Jurong East during rush hour. One thing which I just don't understand is why they have trains that terminate at Yew Tee during peak hours.
25 trains for 40km dist for NEL, 106 trains for 176km length for SMRT...Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:hmmm... noted i'll see... btw, does anybody think NEL should have more trains, judging that its ridership has grown greatly? getting into a 4min-interval train during peak hours is quite difficult... and NEL's train-station ratio still kena owned by NSL/EWL with 25:16 and 106:51...
