if u got the speed limit for NEL from the papers they're inaccurate... the NEL only travels max at 75km/h... i saw its speed limiter on the driver's console...Originally posted by jetabt767400:Oh dear, why is this question always popping out?
About 45-70km/h in normal operations, slightly faster than a snail if you will. The maximum speed is 80km/h for SMRT, and 90km/h (almost impossible in the present) for NEL.
If you wan to catch the train going 80km/h, you can try Yio Chu Kang-Khatib, might be lucky, train goes 80km/h until the gearbox max out with muffling sound...
Hmm, no choice but to agree... Yeah, the info was from wikipedia...Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:if u got the speed limit for NEL from the papers they're inaccurate... the NEL only travels max at 75km/h... i saw its speed limiter on the driver's console...
as long as it can meet the schedule it's okay.Originally posted by rathcycle:wa... 70 km/h is super slow leh...
but the pax will be at a discomfort if deceleration goes any faster. macham jam brake.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:haha yea true... i wonder how fast CCL trains will travel... their stage1 stns all in walking distance one...
can CCL trains accel/slow down at a faster rate, given its shorter length? i suck at physics
wa 40kmh v slow nia... its like slower than LRT la!! like that should call it rapid transit liao... given that there will be only 40 trains serving CCL... and train:stn ratio so small like NEL... how to tackle huge crowds?Originally posted by ^tamago^:but the pax will be at a discomfort if deceleration goes any faster. macham jam brake.
ccl shld be 40kph at shorter stretches and going higher at suburban areas.
