Very crowded outside City Hall MRT Station

the area outside City Hall MRT before the escalator always seems to be crowded with people, especially on weekends. take for instance 2 weeks ago when i got off at City Hall MRT station to see the fireworks, i was surprised to see lobby area to be jam-packed with people.
many seems to be using that small area as a meeting place with friends. and despite the control station kept on repeating the "The Station is crowded. Please leave the station if you are not boarding a train" announcement, many still refuses to move away.
perhaps its time all of us stop using that limited space as a meet up place so that we can reduce human traffic. -
meeting at orchard station is another dumb idea. i always rejected tt idea

ya, really, why don't the TS and SMRT staffs work together to disperse the crowd in City Hall MRT and Orchard MRT?

I am too there at City Hall station on two days of the fireworks festival, and the traffic flow is huge; can testify to that. About 200-300 people packed in that small area, and if some terrorist wants to do something, well...
Just meet somewhere, but no choice, there are really no better place! -

we had to walk until raffles place den take to marina den take back, still very crowded. -

Human nature, if they see mata wif MP5 or M16, they will sure walk away to a more safe less crowded place.

maybe they could just demolish the escalators/stairs and link it up to the basement of raffles city shopping centre.

1) Somerset is some distance away from much better shopping malls (i.e. Ngee Ann City especially, Wisma Atria, The Paragon, Lucky Plaza) of Orchard rd shopping beltOriginally posted by 105090:i wonder why somerset stn always so empty
2) The interior of Somerset looked like some sort of "enclosed area"
3) Not many people are interested to wait inside Somerset MRT.........when actually there are lots of space to wait outside the somerset mrt..........
4) Near to car park --- means lesser MRT users.
5) No retail shops inside somerset MRT as of now.
(Note: I have been to Somerset many times before)
