This is called a ballast tamper or tamping machine. It is used to pack the ballast under the tracks to make it more durable.
Now laying wires along the tracks...

I thought singapore uses a pair of rails on both sides on elevated tracks to facilitate expansion and contraction? where is that second pair of tracks?

Still waiting for the metals rails to come, so some parts of the tracks use single rail for fixing the wirings & the machines to carrying loads to different parts of the tracks...
Currently on parts of the tracks have a pair of rails.
know wat...this is all so cool...it could actually reflect on how the existing tracks were built and everything...of course it only applies to those not born at that time...

The tender for Joo Koon Terminal is out. It should be able to support a maximum of 7 bus services.
It is likely the buses will use this as a bus park to lay by and serve the new MRT station 250 metres out. Boarding and alighting may not be allowed.
Credits to JediAlf for the find.

Boarding and alighting not allowed, no alighting berth. Buses would start and end trip at JKN station.
The boon lay extension line is to open earlier than expected. Good news for the residents living near there.
Me! Anyway that day I saw a train along the tracks... I don't know why. It definitely overshot Boon Lay but I don't know why it was stationary.

And bad news to those who are living next to the track.
Letter from LTA:
"...We would like to inform the residents that we are in the final stage of our testing and commissioning work... These works are necessary for the verification & validation of the integration of various system, safety features and system reliability of the Boon Lay MRT Extension..."
Since thurs night, night works had begun on the tracks.

It needs extra money and time to do so, and the current timber sleepers can still use for several years more.
