The viaduct is really high enough...Originally posted by ^tamago^:When commissioned, the viaduct east of Pioneer will have the highest clearance of any rail viaduct above a road, at 12.20 metres. In comparison, Sengkang Town Centre's LRT viaduct had a clearance of 11.13 metres, BPLRT above Upper Bt Timah Rd is almost 10 metres, and the highest MRT viaduct clearance is at Bt Batok Central, just south of Bt Batok station, at 9.72 metres.
The proposed Jurong LRT is an underground one unlike BP/SKG/PGL LRT.Originally posted by corebooster:i dun think they are able to build a LRT in Jurong. Esp the Jurong West ave 1 area and Boon lay Market. There is just not enough space to build a LRT.
Either U view it from Eastbound platform or take DDs along Jurong West Ctrl 3 towards Boon Lay Temp Int.Originally posted by ^tamago^:really?
Yes, but consider a similar station, Clementi, whose viaduct above Ave 3 only requires a clearance of 6.68 metres from the surrounding.Originally posted by DMC05:With regards to why Pioneer has really high tracks is because the roads next to Pioneer come to an up incline. The location of the pedestrian bridges linking to the station need to allow double decker buses to clear and as such, the east side of the station is higher than that of the west side, hence the really high clearance level of the tracks east of the station.
Almost 10 metres.Originally posted by DMC05:But Clementi station is also a bit disabled un-friendly. To access the entrance/exit bridges they need to make a bit of a detour as it is not level with the concourse floor as the tracks are too low for the bridge to allow sufficient clearance for the double decker buses.
How high are the Pioneer station tracks at the west end though?
1. Old track end - After Boon Lay, before Pioneer stationOriginally posted by DMC05:Which MSCP? The one at the old track end?
There are 3 at least along the westbound route.
1. Old track end - After Boon Lay, before Pioneer station
2. Pioneer station - Next to Pioneer station
3. New HDB development - Near the Nanyang Arch, opposite Jurong Sports & Recreation centre
They lift up a mini excavator to place the ballast, a dump truck to carry the ballast & a mini road roller to spread the ballast evenly.Originally posted by DMC05:Ah, cool. How do they lay the ballast?

Did you photoshop all photo to be red? All pictures are eye-sore and can't see clearly. Not good for viewing...
yeah, the colour is kinda striking. my guess is you used some feature of your scanner to scan the negatives directly or something?
if it could be in normal colour it would be great.
