Bus routes used as MRT line ahcnor

So far two obvious ones come to mind:

EWL

NEL

162 (YCK to Shenton Way via BSH & ORC) can be considered almost like the NSL anchor, as it calls at quite a number of NSL stations (YCK, AMK, NOV, NEW, ORC, SOM, DBG, CTH & RFP).

070 (YCK to Shenton Way via PYL & Suntec) should be used as the CCL anchor and should not be amended or withdrawn.

066 (BDK-JUR via LTI & BTM) is likely to be the anchor of the proposed BTL. I predict a messy exercise involving the withdrawal of 067, the splitting of 171 into 2 routes and the amendment of 065.

CCL needs a few anchors!

I have a feeling that 93 may be amended. However, the status of 70 looks similar to that of 2 & 147.

If 67 gets withdrawn during BTL rationalisation in the distant future, 171 may be shortened to CCK, with the BPJ-YIS sector taken up by a new route. 65 may then be used as cover from LTI to BDK.

The opening of CCL may also be the death knell for 608. It can be covered by 16 from Mandarin Gdns up to BDK.

Bus svs should not be changed anymore... Sv 93 does not totally duplicate with CCL...

Sv93 serves Braddell and Eunos/Airport Rd which CCL doesnt.

For Sv171, it could be an express service from Yishun -> Bukit Panjang Rd -> Jelepang Rd -> Petir Rd -> Dairy Farm Rd -> PIE -> Stevens Rd -> Bt Timah Rd -> Scotts Rd -> Orchard Rd -> Marina Centre. This way, Service 921 could be axed and Service 171 could replace it with a faster frequency and much less duplication with BTL.
