based on the map somewhere in this link (the one that shows all MRT and LRT lines) do u suppose that the Downtown Extension is connected to the CCL and using the same trains as them?Originally posted by SBS9828X:
Yea, Downtown Extension is part of the Circle Line, so they should be connected (at Promenade Interchange) and using same trains ba. Just like Changi Airport Extension of the East-West Line.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:based on the map somewhere in this link (the one that shows all MRT and LRT lines) do u suppose that the Downtown Extension is connected to the CCL and using the same trains as them?
hmm thanks... interesting.. any historian knows abt CCL stage6?Originally posted by kenneth88:Yea, Downtown Extension is part of the Circle Line, so they should be connected (at Promenade Interchange) and using same trains ba. Just like Changi Airport Extension of the East-West Line.
Yup, LTA has ever mentioned about CCL Stage 6, but very very very vaguely. I don't think it's the Downtown Extension. It will probably come far in the future. I've not heard LTA mention about CCL6's planned route before. Anyone knowsOriginally posted by SMRT 32373238:hmm thanks... interesting.. any historian knows abt CCL stage6?
i used to know that there was supposed to be 6 stages instead of 5... was that supposed to connect back to DBG stn? or is stage 6 now known as DTE?
Originally posted by kenneth88:yea i figure it might be shenton way... if not they'd call DTE stage6... oh and also i noticed PGLRT SamKee stn future interchange... any idea where its going?

I don't think it will connect back to Dhoby Ghaut Station from HarbourFront Station as this may duplicate the southern route of North-East Line. On the Internet, an artist's impression of Singapore's future rail network shows that CCL6 will connect HarbourFront Station to Marina Bay Station via Shenton Way and the south of East-West Line's Tanjong Pagar Station. It's unconfirmed and may not be accurate; just a prediction.
My 2002 street directory shows that Punggol North LRT shuttle (non-loop) was supposed to route-split (something like BP6 Bukit Panjang Station) at PW2 Teck Lee Station, while an artist impression of Singapore's future rail network (found on the Internet) shows that it'll route-split at PW1 Sam Kee Station. Both may not be accurate. There're 4 stations (excluding its route-split station). It doesn't go onto Pulau Serangoon (aka Coney Island). I don't think it needs a middle platform ba... BP6 Bukit Panjang Station managed to be a route-split station for quite a few routes without requiring an additional platform.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:yea i figure it might be shenton way... if not they'd call DTE stage6... oh and also i noticed PGLRT SamKee stn future interchange... any idea where its going?
there was supposed to be a Punggol North wing to coney island but they scrapped the idea last minute... there's evidence of 3rd track at PGL stn... it was supposed to be like AMK and JRE layout... but its now a regular stn layout...
