Why are Singaporeans dying to get on the MRT train?

There are markings on the floor which demarcate where they should stand before the door opens.
Past holiday weekend.
When the train stopped and its doors had not opened yet,they were already at the door dying to get in.There were tons of passengers getting out during that period and yet those outside just rushed in.Can you imagine the chaos?
I rest my case. -

I was recently squeezed in by others from behind until everyone was presing on each other....
I laugh when I saw such a scenario in Hongkong comedy....nv expect it really happens in Singapore...on me somemore!!!

i think what SMRT wants to do is that all trains entering the tunnels towards city must be packed.
increase their profit margin per train entering city??
moreover, i realised that taking bus no. 65 to orchard frm tampines int is cheaper than taking the train to orchard frm tampines. alight frm 65 at opp. orchard mrt stn.
adult fare by train : $1.42
adult fare by bus : $1.35
7 cents here accounts to 30 mins' difference in journey time.

I think MRT is more Worth it .
BTW is 65 from Tamp goes to Orchard faster than
18 from Tamp transfer to 7 go Orchard? -

i dun like stand in mrt. paid same fare, one sitting and sleeping comfortly, while the other suffered standing wif a crowd of bangala. which do you prefer?

We pay ridiculously high fares on forever overcrowded trains. There are so few seats. and the seats are cramp, narrow, and hard, not forgetting the seats are sideways, not facing the front. So we gota make the most of our fares.
At busy stations, i sometimes also rush in to grab a seat.. nit funny to stand for 30 minutes -
I am used to standing from Amk to Boon Lay.

usually, i take train.. if off-peak, enter late and stand by the door facing direction of motion. if peak hr, bo bian lor. stand at door. if got lotsa time, i rather take the bus. bus confirm got seat. frm orchard, i take 65 at lucky plaza. sure got seat.
