Anyway, if say I in no position... Think of this, hasn't the arrival of MRT made daily expenses higher?
Definitely wouldn't be weird for Australian tourists, as its very common for suburban railways to use short trains during off-peak and then couple 2 trains together for peak hour svc, to save on utilities. I believe such savings can amount to a lot in the long run.Originally posted by SBS9889U:It would look quite weird to the tourist @ Changi Airport finding that only part of the station being utilised. Maybe the 6 carriage trains gives a better impression?
Then how are we gonna get to Marina Bay open area for shoots and steamboat?Originally posted by SBS9889U:Maybe Dover only open during the school term while the other times, the station can close to cut operating costs. (Like what i have suggested for Marina Bay.)
However, the suggestion for Marina Bay is easier to carry out as the SMRT personell can ask all passengers to clear at Raffles Place while the train driver continues on to Marina Bay or change at Raffles Place.
The Dover one may be harder to carry out as the public needed more education on when the station closes as there are much more passengers going to/from Dover than Marina Bay.
Ermm They did have 2 cars together in the past...Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Definitely wouldn't be weird for Australian tourists, as its very common for suburban railways to use short trains during off-peak and then couple 2 trains together for peak hour svc, to save on utilities. btw, the LRT in Changi Airport also uses only one-car instead of two-car. (the second platform door always been left unused)
Perth Metropolitan trains also uses 2-car sets currently (eg Fremantle Line)Originally posted by sBs_boy:Ermm They did have 2 cars together in the past...
