  That's why when NEL plan came in 1996, PGL was 1 of the 3 stations that would not be opened

  Not really, their 196,000 ridership on 20km line is abt 862,000 on the SMRT's 88km line... Anyway, see the peak hr loading of the NEL

  Yes, but now after Punggol (21st new town) has been developed, more people is taking the NEL at Punggol. Not like last time.

  We don't know yet But I think It will be popular as this shortened train rides (no need to transfer at City Hall or Raffles Place anymore
