The JIS would surely be affected with the extension.Originally posted by sbst275:Well, that short extn wun affect BNL's Jurong buses much
Originally posted by SBS3572Y:Best that SBS Transit could operate the old 711, 712, 713 buses to JL again. Frquency for these buses is OK in the past as I got a record on them.
there is really not much ppl working in Jurong Island. only 715 serve there currently, and its frequency is no good, many ppl also have buses or cars to the mainland, so a light rail may not be practical.
due to low density crowd movement is another factor.
even the upcoming joo koon station, may only be maximised during peak hours and trains can even afford to call there every 15 mins or so and the rest turn around at boonlay.
again, there is low movement of ppl in these 2 areas mentioned during off peak hours, and traffic flow is a one directional peak period manner, like the NEL.
I dun really think soOriginally posted by SBS9889U:The JIS would surely be affected with the extension.
DifficultOriginally posted by SBS9889U:The Jurong Industrial area should be served by LRTs instead of the extension which will lead to nothing.
Becos there is actually a link b/t SKG and PGL. over the TPEOriginally posted by SGEMP:Is there any possibility of thru LRTs between PGL---SKG?
Actually, there is already a 'link'Originally posted by SGEMP:Is there any possibility of thru LRTs between PGL---SKG?
I do Agree that there is a link from Sengkang to Punggol.. BUT.. the actual fact is that the tracks are only connected to SGKLRT West loop.. it is to facilite the movement of LRTs to and fro the Depot (Located along SGKW and PGLRT).. If there is a through track... it would defeat the purpose as the LRT is suppose to serve sort of a feeder Train and NOT Inter Town... In short.. It is NOT possible..Originally posted by SGEMP:Is there any possibility of thru LRTs between PGL---SKG?
if LRT, then its possible it would only waste resources.. there is such a low number of commuter movement in Jurong IE at all times besides 7-9am and 5-7.30pm.. you wouldnt want empty LRT going round after rounds do you?Originally posted by SBS9889U:The Jurong Industrial area should be served by LRTs instead of the extension which will lead to nothing.
Already SBS hates serving Ind Est that only has peak hr demand with AC fleet, what more to say a more ex LRT infastructure?Originally posted by 105090:if LRT, then its possible it would only waste resources.. there is such a low number of commuter movement in Jurong IE at all times besides 7-9am and 5-7.30pm.. you wouldnt want empty LRT going round after rounds do you?
Also, mentioned before, is the human density.. some more many people take lorris out of jurong daily. Also the present JIS routes are quite direct and each service serve their own sectors.. LRT cannot afford to be like this.. Even now, you also see empty VO2x at non peak hours
and one more thing, the land tenure in Jurong is like 30years.. after that the land may be demolished etc etc..
What about if:Originally posted by sbst275:Already SBS hates serving Ind Est that only has peak hr demand with AC fleet, what more to say a more ex LRT infastructure?
Which new train line is NAC today?Originally posted by SGEMP:What about if:
Put non-aircon LRT and run alongside the 2nd link to JB.
would
1)Relieves congestion in Kranji (160,170 all plates) and KTM and helps eliminate the CW3 for our national interests.
2) Reduce the need for Jurong industrial services.
I mean, why not try out as the world's 1st NAC LRT system.Originally posted by sbst275:Which new train line is NAC today?
It is only SBS that stubbornly insist only fully or majority NAC fleet for Ind related Svs
Again, I said, those office ppl seating comfort inside SBS dun care that Ind Svs needs AC busesOriginally posted by SGEMP:I mean, why not try out as the world's 1st NAC LRT system.
Currently, virtually all the world's LRT systems are FAC.
ya... very "FUNNY"...Originally posted by SGEMP:I mean, why not try out as the world's 1st NAC LRT system.

hmm.. lets have NAC underground MRT stations next, and ovens in tropical Singapore buses next..Originally posted by SGEMP:I mean, why not try out as the world's 1st NAC LRT system.
