BTW it is not reallt for us to decide whether it is a monorail or LRT. If the government treat the Sentosa Express as monorail, we have no rights to say it's a LRT system. Period.Originally posted by sbst275:WARNING TO ALL

a monorail - is a piece of rail where the train is plied on it. ONLY ONE PLANK metal/concrete.
thus, whether it's 2-directional or what, it doesn't matter. as long as the train sits on a single piece of track, it is a monorail.
A flat takes at least 3-4 yrs to complete...Originally posted by SBS9889U:I think 2010.
yeah it should. but if u need permission to get onto the island, there might be problems for checking who should go in and who shouldn'tOriginally posted by SBS9889U:Back to the topic, should LRTs replace the buses(715...) that seves Jurong Island?
Humm... a good idea. An offshore LRT system that serve JL and Singapore.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Back to the topic, should LRTs replace the buses(715...) that seves Jurong Island?
Its simple, the LRT would stop at the JI Checkpoint and all passengers were to alight and have baggage check/ exchange for visitor pass before reboarding the next LRT.Originally posted by medicheng:yeah it should. but if u need permission to get onto the island, there might be problems for checking who should go in and who shouldn't
Originally posted by SBS3572Y:Well, that short extn wun affect BNL's Jurong buses much
there is really not much ppl working in Jurong Island. only 715 serve there currently, and its frequency is no good, many ppl also have buses or cars to the mainland, so a light rail may not be practical.
due to low density crowd movement is another factor.
even the upcoming joo koon station, may only be maximised during peak hours and trains can even afford to call there every 15 mins or so and the rest turn around at boonlay.
again, there is low movement of ppl in these 2 areas mentioned during off peak hours, and traffic flow is a one directional peak period manner, like the NEL.
