Like small town (Bukit Panjang, Sengkang and Punggol), Jurong west (or Taman Jurong) will build LRT to serve residence there. And maybe it wil connect to Boon Lay. Just a guess.Originally posted by disappear:dont know, they say actual schedule of when would depend on state of economy, availability of funding and how fast they can complete the technical studies. but i hope they could complete these lines within 10 to 15 yrs.
for JRL maybe it wouldnt be too long, since it would benefit almost all NTU students going there, so has demand......
just guessing.......
i think lim chu kang also haveOriginally posted by medicheng:in concept 21 plan i saw the rail system from boon lay connected the pioneer road, jurong island, tuas bus interchange, tuas south and even a link to choa chu kang.... hmmmmmmm
There are plans for it but it is not confirmed. For LIM CHU KANG NEW TOWN.....a little bird told me that plans might be scrapped and the place will be a reserved area first.Originally posted by disappear:i think lim chu kang also have
Lim Chu Kang and Neo Tiew estates are not HDB estates, more like farm area, so no need LRT. But can increase the bus services. Only 3 service operates there...Originally posted by medicheng:Lim Chu Kang should be quite impossible... lucky neo tiew esate not a HDB area liao or else might have LRT link to there...
Yes, but not Bukit Panjang. BPLRT was build when the town has already developed. Sengkang and Punggol LRT was planned as far back as 8 years !Originally posted by SBS9889U:LRTS are good for areas that are crowded as the frequency is fast.I think that LRTs should be built before a town develops as then the construction would not cause the residents inconvieninece.
now with all this talk about different transport entering Sentosa..we must all bear in mind that visitors to Sentosa must pay the entrance fee too!! we cant just step into Sentosa as and when we liek for free..this means that all points of entry into Sentosa must converge in one place..which is the Sentosa Visitor's Centre..this will make that place very cluttered up and messy..therefore just a monorail line and buses will do..i think that demolishing the old monorail was quite a good idea as the condition of the old one was rather bad and tourists might not enjoy the bumpy rides too..however i would have preferred that SDC renovated the line instead and changed everything from the cars to the guideways..that would have been much better..maybe use the same monorail as the Jurong Birdpark Panorail..they look cool..haha..Originally posted by disappear:yea, it probably have to be underground. dont think they would like to let it come out of the ground right after Harbourfront just to cross the sea to sentosa...the only thing about underground is can't see the scenary, but continuing the MRT for one station to reach there would be very convenient and would definitely bring more pple there.
anyways, with the sentosa express lrt, it is impossible they would built a Sentosa MRT station. wonder why they didnt want to do it, extend the NEL or CCL or something.. not enough demand? Monorail LRT can see scenary..also fine.
The Sentosa Express is a monorail system that links harbourfront center to Sentosa island.. one thing for sure.. it is ABove Ground..Originally posted by disappear:if they had extend the MRT line to sentosa, then getting there would hav been even more convenient
In anyway... whether you wanna believe it is your problem.. the MONORAIL's tracks are ready at some parts of Sentosa.. If you are travelling on the bridge that links singapore with Sentosa, it can be seen clearly that the tracks are 80% complete... itz a 2-directional tracks..Originally posted by medicheng:i think the sentosa one is not monorail... it should be LRT.
You know what's the meaning of monorail?Originally posted by sBs_boy:In anyway... whether you wanna believe it is your problem.. the MONORAIL's tracks are ready at some parts of Sentosa.. Correct...Originally posted by medicheng:let me try, only run on a single track unlike trains and mrt runs on 2 tracks?
Dont you get it ? Dual tracks.. 1 direction EACH...Originally posted by sbst275:Correct...
Single track..
If it is 2 track then is dual track.. Sentosa Express is dual track mah
Why are you saying monorail?Originally posted by sBs_boy:Dont you get it ? Dual tracks.. 1 direction EACH...
