Lift at Entrance B of Serangoon Station

What happen to it, how come it take so long for maintenance? i dont really like that entrance because hav to go down 2 flights of escalators. so the lift there is quite useful.

NEL stations are ridiculous.. have to go down so many flights of escalator to reach platform from street level.. like need ppl to walk and see / explore the station more.. now if stations are on street level.. (HK's KCR) or like those NSL / EWL undergroynd stns, which are much shallower than NEL ones, esp the resource-wasting dhoby gaut.

It is technically possible for underground stations to be at street level. The ticketing and passenger service facilities can be built next to the street, with escalators leading down to platforms. However, I have yet to find any in Singapore. Teh closest is Bishan.
Anyway, I don't remember having to take many flights of escalators at Chinatown. It seems to have the same number of escalators from street to platform as Bugis. -
They're built deeper mah. You prefer an escalator that decends 4 storeys and is is 65m on an incline of 35 degrees?

4 storeys is too much and would look/be dangerous.......but generally, i dont mind one v long escalator go straight down to the concourse level...for e.g. the one u see at entrance A of Serangoon MRT.. having to go down 2 escalator give the feel that it is less convenient to get down, even though this may be just psychologically only.Originally posted by ditzy:They're built deeper mah. i suppose entrance B(red) of Serangoon has 2 flight of escalator because of the direction the entrance is facing............
