Link Sengkang MRT to Yio Chu Kang MRT

The 1996 white paper has a map which got this link. i think in later plan this was taken out.
the sengkang lrt west loop if they continue to extend it can connect with NSL and link to Yio Chu Kang
Anyway, is just imagine only and it wont happen -

link Ang Mo Kio to Hougang via LRT. then AMK to Hougang i think will 10 min only

i feel its good to link Sengkang to Yio Chu Kang MRT, but if they really wanted to build they would have build it together with Sengkang LRT, but they never. it means that it wont happen unless they change their mind.
but then again, they also never built Punggol North LRT with Punggol East and West Loops. Maybe when building the Punggol North LRT in future they can consider building the Yio Chu Kang link at the same time, but i dont thinks they will -

I agree from AMK to Hougang, can make do with the circle line by transferring at Bishan and at Serangoon. However a direct link is always preferred. perhaps some would rather take direct bus from AMK to Hougang rather than go by CCL, as they may not like to transfer twice.
If the LRT is built, it will also probably passed by Serangoon North, which currently is not really near MRT station.
Perhaps they should really considered continuing the Sengkang LRT west loop to linked to Yio Chu Kang MRT. however if people are comfortable with 86 maybe this link isnt really require. -

dere is a plan in da 2001 singapore concept plan which shows Punngol being connected to woodlands instead.....no skg to yck though...so perhaps the plan has been scrapped.....sorry...a very good idea but may not happen....
the northern shore line will not be built as well.....yet....
datz da one where punggol get connected to wdl and pasir ris and future changi coastal town... i really wish my scanner was working so dat i can scan da map... -
The Circle Line will do the job.

I have 2 editions
the first edition showed distant future plans to connect P.Ubin n P.Tekong as well Jurong Island n Long Island...but
the second edition does not show doze plans except for the Jurong Island...mAybe the plan is shelved... -

yea i think the woodlands one got pass near Nee Soon Camp area.......and also reach Upp Thomson Road(b4 interchanging with Marymount), so it may even has chance of stopping at or near thomson plaza too? but all these will only in distant future.....too long to wait........ now, i is already happy with Marymount Station as it is conveniently near Thomson Plaza, can take almost any bus along that road to reach...since moving away from bishan, thomson plaza has become so inaccessible and i had always liked to go there....Originally posted by medicheng:yep i saw this line... i was amaze.... and another one from woodlands pass by SLE, amk ave 4, thomson to town.... total of 4 lines -

if really happen more bus service will be take off ....

Hopefully, there could be more LRT lines instead of MRT lines as LRTs may be more essential to towns where buses are not very easily reachable.

, just joking. Actually our future rail network (those who have the Longman Atlas can refer there) will be more than 15 lines + about 6 LRT system. -
how many mrt and lrt system i am not sure reading from the altas.... but then i saw like 4 lines from west to town (including east west line, bt timah line, circle line), 4 lines (including north south line, northeast line) from north, 4 lines fro east (including east west line, eastern region line) going towards town.... how u all think?
