The reason that this group is here because it has a purpose for it is to encourage healthy interaction. Furthermore there will be some new buddhists here and we should avoid making them feel uneasy. And as this list is open to public anyone could come in including very young people. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding

Description
A Buddhist study group which focuses on studying Gampopa's 'The Jewel Ornament of Liberation'. The text sets out the path (from a Kagyu perspective) in a systematic fashion, step by step, from Buddha Nature right through to Wisdom and Buddhahood and beyond.
Each week will focus on a particular section of the book. Those involved are invited to study, reflect on and meditate on that topic. They can then bring questions to the group for clarification, share experiences and realisations, and quote relevent teachers and teachings.
People of any level of experience are welcome, as are posts of any level to the group. The study group is open to all who have a sincere interest in the materials. As a rough guide, it will probably take more than a year to complete the text.
There are three English language versions of the text published. It is suggested that people buy 'The Jewel Ornament of Liberation' by Khenpo Konchog Gyaltshen, Snow Lion Publications.
The group officially started 1 Dec 2004.
"May the consequences of this study be of unlimited benefit to all sentient beings."
