I am looking for animes which has (action and/or comedy type)
and is not more than say....40 episodes?
any suggestions -
Gunslinger Girl, only 14 episodes.
Jigoku Shoujo, only 26 episodes.

something like Gensou Miaden Saiyuki would do fine
i dun have the patience to follow a loooooooooooong story line..epsically if its those which are already in the 100+ episodes and i only just started nia -

So from the list, you know the rest are 'short' animes.
Cos there are lesser long installment anime than short ones.
Easier to see.

Some shorter, some longer. -

Dun watch anime based on unfinished manga (I can give you tonnes of example, like Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha).
Now for recommendations.
Action: Black Lagoon (24), Chevalier (I think 24).
Comedy: Saiunkokuni no Monogatari (39), Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (14), (if you can stand yuri) Mai-HiME (26) and Mai-Otome (26), Rozen Maiden (12)(12)series, Ah! My Goddess series (so far 2. 26, including DVD special; 24, including DVD special)
Other recommendations: Twelve Kingdoms (39) -
try last exile, samurai 7, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fate/ Stay Night, etc..

and comparing with fate/stay night, that's better.
trinity blood, dun download it. it's rubbish, too difficult to understand, but if you like vampires and stuffs, go ahead.
