  French actress Audrey Tautou was indeed mentioned somewhere among the threads in this forum, but no one ever thought of starting a dedicated thread on her. So here goes.
  
  She recently gained attention from mainstream movie-goers for her role as Sophie Neveu in the much-awaited blockbuster movie "The Da Vinci Code". Little do most of them know that she is already an accomplished professional actress in European cinema.
  
  Beginning her acting career at an early age of 18, Tautou has appeared in about 20 French movies, out of which "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie poulain (Amélie) " and "Un long dimanche de fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement)"are considered the two biggest French movies to date. Her most recent released movie was "Les poupées russes (The Russian Dolls)".
  
  Armed with a literature degree and a flawless command of English, Tautou -- like her fellow French actress Sophie Marceau -- has received many Hollywood offers, but has politely declined almost every one till "The Da Vinci Code" came along.
  
  One of her personal quotes:
  
  "Hollywood doesn't need me. After 'Amélie,' I didn't get any offers that interested me. I have very eclectic tastes, but it's important for me that a movie be sensitive, clever and subtle."

  Yes, that movie was quite interesting. The audience didn't get the full picture till they saw both sides of the story.
