just keep playing. you'll get there sooner or later. that's the best way and the best advice i can give you.

well.. if u got the skill already, you ll be fine with most heroes. recently i ve taken a liking for silencer and enchantress =)

I use lucifer, quite good, get heart or rad or both and wooden leg(dunno what its called) and you own.
Btw i find that AIs usually lvl up way faster than players off the net. So dont play too much AI, try to play real to know real.

Imo, viper, spiritbreaker and luna etc can be beginner's hero. Oh and sniper too, because of its range.

pub riki is ok since many don't give a damn about wards / gem or book of ggness that is underrated in pub. -

with his stunning ability and run away ability with the time ulti.. its easiest for him to run away or to kill -

one advice, don't ask what to get... you should think of what item will be good for your hero, in that game, against what heroes, and what your team might need...
any heroes will do fine actually, just don't get meepo or pit lord, not really noob friendly...
just practice your last hit and deny for starters, after that practice skill using, and microing.. den learn bout heroes.. -

If using support heroes, best is try not to go for killer builds.
I see before one techie farm bot, mkb, skadi and buriza and hyperstone.
