Happy Hari Raya Haji to all Muslim forumers.
During the festival period, goats are being slaughtered and share among the Muslims.
Can any Muslim forumers share with us about the above tradition during Haji?
Why do Muslim slaughter goats? Must it be only goats? Can it be other animals like cows or chicken? -
They do that to remember the incident that took place during Prophet Ibrahim's time.
God instruct him to sacrifice his son. And he did. But as he was about to sacrifice the boy, god replaced him with I forgot, a lamb I think.
Arabs sacrifice camels. Here they do it with goats and cows...
Any mistakes forgive me.

sorry I dun know who he is? I do know Islam got 7 Prophets (correct me if I am wrong), but I only know the last one Prophet Muhammed. -

Prophet Ibrahim sorry I dun know who he is? I do know Islam got 7 Prophets (correct me if I am wrong), but I only know the last one Prophet Muhammed.
Prophet Ibrahim... aka Abraham in christianity. only difference is... which son did god asked to sacrifice... islam says ismail or ishmael... xtian says...isaac or ishak..
but then ..tats another story.. -

Oh ok I have heard about Abraham before in Christain stories but I din know he is known as Prophet Ibrahim to Muslims.

Jews say they are right and still waiting for messiah.
Christians says the messiah has already come.
Islam says both are rubbish and corrupted and ,uhammad brings the final revelation direct from god. -
