  I started driving taxi in the late 80s, then, I upgrade myself thru taking casket lesson and logistic shipping, learned abt the port net, how PSA run, all the different anchorage in Singapore, then I stopped driving and went for sailing as a seaman for Petronas, after few years, I get promoted a few times, but as age catches up, I returned to drive taxis after the asia financial crisis. Then in 2003, Sars hit Singapore, taxi business was so bad, airport no paxs, hotel empty, hospitals long Q of paxs but taxi drive dun dare to go in, I took the risk and pick all of them, then I saw many died, so, I started my casket driving with my available license, and even as casket driving, I get promoted to supervisor within 5 years. Then I decided to do partime Taxi and partime casket, which is more suitable for me and in fact, more freedom, because I cannot drive a casket to find bak bak, but taxi can.

  Looks like it is really not easy at all to be a td. Your comments really help someone like me to be mentally prepared for the worse. I personally feel that most spouses will more or less feel inferior. Upgrading myself is hard for an unambitious person like me. Driving 3 hrs continously I haven't really try before but can alrdy imagine is tough. My driving skill is really just average, not a fast driver but considered cautious, poor knowledge of roads. Patience, customers servicing, EQ,IQ and sense of direction should have some. Snatching customers/ bookings knowledge , this is something i must really learn. Yes, it is more practical to share my experiences rather than my thoughts. Hopefully can start part time driving soon to experience the Ups and Downs. Yes, i heard of someone who gave up taxi driving after just less than 3 mths on the road due to stress and health. Holding shit and urine while driving is something i worried abt. Can't imagine i shit on my pants. Back pain too. Really must watch diet and exercise more for td. Bowah seems to enjoy what u are doing now. Not so hard up for money. Driving taxi without much stress. Casket business can earn income at the same time doing good deeds.

  hello, prepare to drive at least 6 hours for part time drivers

  full time omo = at least 12 hours driving

  12 hours driving on the road is too tiring though I haven't tried. For me, probably 10 hours driving with 3 to 4 short interval breaks would be my target. Hopefully still able acheive daily income targets.

  Do more exercise and sexercise, study show that taxi driver must occasionally do exercise to distress and at the same time, tone up their muscle and mental strength, sexericse will help the body to produce more happy hormone that lead to healthy (good blood flow) and happier life, less hair drop, less angry and better skin complex.

  Study had shown Singapore men and women have the least sex in the Asean region, this could be due to many factors, 1. Working long and stressful hours so as to support a high cost of living society 2. No time for self and bad balancing of life and work 3. Lack of exercise leading to less power and mentality to have sex 4. Pampering of oneself hard work is non existence as it is consider as wasting time n $$ 5. Too much time spent on net and games. All these derives to a low birthrates and lesser marriage society and a constant mindset that always think having sex is a lost of earning and bad for one, which the inverse is true. End up most PCC rather than go for sex, because PCC is faster, can do anywhere, anytime and FOC, but at the expense of some health issue if PCC too much.

  the Hard truth is, it is not the right time and yet wrong place and moment to enter transportation of people business, Changi AP is opening T4 and T5 soon, needs to employ lots of staff, try to apply there, nicer environment, nicer peoples and better promotion opportunity

  AP has a nice working atmosphere and i'm sure more gd looking female colleagues. I noticed for the past two weeks, the taxi stand queue for empty taxis are getting longer during morning peak. Also i noticed a trend , ard 10am onwards you hardly find taxis. I guess most of them go for coffee breaks.

  Newbies may tend to chiong at wrong timing and cruise ard aimlessly. With experiences, it really can save lots of efforts.

  Cannot like that la. Sometime i dun need to work so early. So book cab at 945am. From teban to six battery road fast fast no jam n erp. Morning peak need at least 30 mins. Off peak only 15 mins. Taxi uncle also song no need keep braking.

  Default Userid should be your NRIC and password is your date of birth
