Aiya, smlj rank and designation not important, more important is paid…some give you $1,500 paid per month, then give you a title as Mall Security Director…
Remember your could be $2 company CEO in Singapore.
We where got lowest grade? Our startup capital more than 500 times those of $2 Pte Ltd companies. It is more when you factor in Cash Card amount, initial fuel, small change money, outside parking fees, HDB permanent monthly parking fees , time and time/amount invested (and lost income) to get that taxi license, loss income to attend additional rental company's orientation courses. Many of us spent a few months preparing for it before we saw money coming in and this is not including the time/money spent getting the driving license and additional years of car driving experience.
The most important thing in business startups is to be profitable. When you consider this bottomline,we are considered OK because our small businesses are profitable businesses. Many many bigger startups are not profitable going 6-9 digits into the reds.

Got but that guy got engineering degree and MBA. But most likely did not do engineering in SAF as engineering works were done by ST and Defense Tech. Probably started off already as an officer.
"Mall Security Director" title is for you to feel better as an older person since you are already not suitable for many other positions and they are in need of people.
For those who are physically fit younger Singaporeans, even if you give them "Rifleman" title, they don't care as they get paid more. But these fellows have to suffer under the hot sun pretty often.
A few weeks ago, I fetched one old security guard age 76 from a reputable security company who only joined 1 year ago in Singapore. He said he is only doing this job only to pass time as he thinks a lot when he is not working. He also said he would be released by his company very soon.

If got spare time, can pick up skills like learning how to trade! http://reallifetrading.com
Asking cabbies to do online trading is really bad advice.
If they got the trading skills before entering the taxi trade, they wont even have to drive a cab.
If banks can lose money from bad loans and unfavourable forex movements, what more an individual?
I trade real currencies (not online) and commodities (not online either).
I sometimes have to hold the foreign notes for months before the rates are in my favour.
For commodities, sometimes I can let go in days. Sometimes also months.
Why I never trade online? The simple reason is because it is much easier to make money holding cash and goods yourself, then to use margin and incur interest every day.
Pay for the foreign notes and goods. Stuff you can hold and touch is still the best way to make money.
Look at our wet market stalls, provision shops, jewellery shops, licensed money lenders and fruit or cake shops. They are all trading real goods, commodities and currencies.
I lost money doing online trading, and became profitable only after switching to trading with real goods and meeting customers I can smile and shake hands with.

You just made the best decision in your life. Look forward and its ok to ponder the short part of your life spent as a cabby. For me, there is no going back to being a cabby even if u beat me to death.
If u have around $1k+, go woodlands and spend around a year to get your class 4. Nowadays with class 4, you can pull container already.
I got my class 4 only on the third attempt. Found it quite difficult because my car is auto transmission. My livelihood no need class 4 or 5. Just that i love driving all kinds of vehicles.
Lucky me I hv class 4
Took in the 90s should hv went for class 5 too back then...
No need drive those big 40 seater la 20 seater gd enough
Delivery driver is out bcoz old liao cannot carry things so bus driving is a better choice
Those looking for such jobs can simply look into papers or online to sign up wit agencies
Very easy one they will fix u up wit compines tat are looking for drivers
Now me waiting...can't wait to quit taxi lol
