No need lah, just go cdg for mdt upgrade, and say you will pay the cost in advance. Then ask them to deduct booking fees from your lump sum pre-payment.

Aiya, nowadays, no show very common, imaging pax got how many apps and booking to choose, whoever come first, win lah. If there is a system built to be abuse, sure the abuse lah, if both cab and apps ride arrived, you think pax will take which one???

cdg got over 15000 taxi..BUT...(Over 6,000 of such terminals will be installed over the course of the next nine months. The first batch has already been installed in 100 taxis in April this year. The second batch of 1,900 units started the roll out yesterday and should be installed by August 2015. The final batch of 4,400 X-One MDTs will be installed by the first quarter of 2016.)...hahaha!!!

Throw key is the best. Being a taxi driver in Singapore sucks! The flexibility doesn't justify much as well.

But to find a good hirer also difficult......
Many TD fall into this category, fetch kina, fetch lau char bor, fetch lau bu, lau peh, fetch dog/cat, so in order to accomplish all this mission, be a hirer sound more logical.......
Here must peng steering to pay rental, there must pick son, pick daughter so that don't need to put child care or school bus......
By the time, you realise it, BANG!!!!! $2k gone.......

Though taxi driver is not the best job in Singapore, it brings in stable income. It is also on the average better than other self-employed jobs like property agent, financial advisor, insurrance saleman, renovator sales coordinator and other no basic salary sales job (like perfume saleman).

But pimps are doing well, better than TD. But of course, there is a risk, and high risk equal high return. Taxi driving is also a high risk job, from getting fark by pax, getting fark by companies, getting fark by LTA..to accident to health to fines to myocardia infaraction, you name it, it have it. Therefore, to said we are average better than property agent or financial advisor or whatever saleman or salewomen...we hv to consider our risk and nature of Taxi driving.

Pimps are also affected by recessions..... I also fetch customers to and from Geylang but it seems too that businesses are not as good as before these days.

Only the food stores are doing well......at 8pm.....chicken rice store hanging 10-14 chickens......at 1am, left 1-3 chickens.

There is no freelance in GL area, most of them are somehow or rather control by syndicate.......
Just like TD, half shift 12 hour, if 8am, you take my cab, lucky enough, 1pm might hop into my taxi again......
GL is my area, don't need to doubt my point......

Now sure whether they are really freelance but those are individual prostitutes that stand or sit on their own chairs besides the streets not like others who have fixed addreses (houses).
You see them at 8pm,10pm and still there at 1am most of the nights.
Then there is another big group of them on another street.....most of them are foreigners....occasionally you see 1 isolated lady that looks like the your neighbours innocent daughter.

Just sent them email few days ago to request mdt replacement. I got me mdt changed to X1 within 10 days after my email. Below is part of the reply from cdg.
We have noted on your feedback with regard to your MDT problem and Mr XXXrequest to replace it with a newer MDT.
We would like to share with you that our Management have decided to phase out our older MDT model I Pilot, 728 and 738 and replace it with newer MDT. However, due to the manufacturer could only supply limited numbers of new MDT for each shipment, we could only notify our cabbies with older MDT to come back for replacement by batches. Nevertheless, we have targeted to complete the MDT renewal excise by 3 quarter of 2016.
We have forwarded your replacement request to our Technical Division for their consideration -
Well, at least they replied. Kong Hee Fatt Choy, with all going into X1 mdt, sooner or later, it will be back to square one.
