Agree that it is a backup job. But govt could encourage professional driving by helping to reduce the taxi rental rates (currently, new cabs starts from $110 onwards). Many don't want to drive also because must cover the high taxi rental by requiring to drive long hours. There is no support / incentives to drive taxi. The government don't seem to treat taxi as a public transport?

I have been encouraging new drivers to start off as relief and delay the decision whether to OMO till at least 6 months later. By then would know whether own productivity per hour would justify switching over to OMO with different taxi companies and how many hours one need to drive in order to make the amount that one wants Also one would know what the maximum limit one's body could take. Some companies charge lower rentals than others and have more free days.
