court case

if some one,decides to fight a traffic offense in court(now call state court) and if he loses the case,will it affect his renewal of TDVL?is it classify as criminal record?

Traffic and parking offenses got no criminal record unless police case involved.
Can pay and get over with it is best. Why waste time fight in court unless u really jin rich and free? If lose end up paying more or go jail for a few weeks if u cannot pay up. Have u been to court before or not? The subordinate court cases rarely take more than 3 minutes for the judge to read out his judgement. Then next offender gets called. Some days u see long queue of hand-cuffed offenders waiting for their turn. Want to argue your case? You will need to hand in a written submission and then wait for next hearing. On the day, he glances thru and if he is not convinced, within 1 minute he reads out the new judgement which could mean an increase in the fine or sit in jail for longer in default of payment. The judge is not a fool. You cannot argue with him. There are ten to twenty police officers hanging around each court room to ensure your obedience.

waiting time was quite long,i waited 3 hours to be called!and parking at Chinatown was very expensive $15++for aboutg 3 hrs!my case i want to fight was bcos the officer accuse me of not giving way to a mother and child crossing at a signalised crossing,but me and pax didn't see any pedestrians as mention crossing it!we were surprised when i was stopped,furthermore it involved 6 demerit points!

Yalor, go court is for more serious case, usually, can appeal, reduce the issue and may only get a warning, and getting the pax as witness must also ensure the pax got time and willing to co operate. -

I thot you work in courts at Tampines. Aiya, never known you work in the real court..every now and then, whenever I eng eng will go outside sub court walk walk in the morning, can see many thing happening, from Jover to Amos..to Ng..you name it, and I also use to see an old guard in white unlocking the court glass door early in the morning. -

CCTV no good, sue Cdg lah. Aiya, ah fool ah fool, many of us hv 6 pts + $200 gone in our driving life, you know why my bro KTC no more driving and become lackey of property agents even when property today is so down. Because all points gone liao... ...my take is, take it as a lesson learnt, pay and move on. -

My case was ,I was stop by traffic police car after the traffic light junction at Pasir Ris central that connects fr Pasir Ris Dr 1,I was turning left. Just directly in front is the White Sands shopping center. The officer accuse me of not giving way to a woman and a small child at the signalized crossing.But me and my pax sitting in front didn't see any child and woman crossing.We were commenting why a young man was dashing across the crossing when the green man was already blinking.FYI I did stop for this guy to cross.

Then dun bother to go court. I tried before also police accuse me of cutting acorss double white line which I clearly did not. Last time no camera. So I go court end up slap a higher fine. They will believe the police de. So dun waste time and money. We lan lan de.

Police no camera also. That was more then 10 years ago when camera is not popular.

Maybe earlier before he accuse me, his traffic police car was at a bus stop trying to turn out n I was trying to turn left into Pasir Ris central,maybe he tulan I never give way to him

Yalor, going to court is big issue, if lost, mostly the fines can be 10 times more or even more, and as what hammer said,//...90% u lose one lah, judge and police are appointed by govt, you think judge no pity on us one lah
