Private taxi or aka private car chauffeur won't last long in SG except limousine services.....
Why?.....
1st, our car price are so ex, loan are so stiff, unlike any other countries, maybe $5k can buy a reasonable car and start operation liao, go read those foreign limousine forum, you will understand more on what I meant.....
2nd, many of this jiao kia, why want to be a Uberx or Grab drivers? Becos all man think alike, just like we TD, always dream of picking chio bu, xmm.....but never know, type of pax are chow ah mo, FT ah neh, pay you $0.10 expect $1 service type, knn, jiao kia buy the car at $100k, collect your cb fare of $20 and command you, beh long one la, than they will realised the hardship of a TD, fetch chio bu, wait long long lor......
3rd, many of this private car, most likely in some job that can command them a better money, come in, testing testing, can la......
That's why, few weeks ago, I mentioned, good for ex TD only, renting car from them, not buying and work like a limousine drivers, than you will last maybe longer a bit......

I beg to differ, Uber n grabcar driver are actually renting a car for private use, as car is expensive in singapore and a heavy depreciation asset. -
If you rent a car today, it is expensive, Uber n grab not only provide a cheaper option for the driver but also come with a job to pick pax that will lessen yr rental cost. As insurance, broker and property agents are the one of the main beneficiary. Eh...we are talking abt those cheapo agents like my bro KTC who hv to work pass midnite type, not those high end type like Peter Lim hor.

Take taxi one..super low one, that one sell old folk HDB only. And you will be surprise some Uber got rent alphard and big toyota MPV...not only can use as limousine service but also can take client's ah ma, ah kong, mei mei and kor kor to see seller houses. Uber, supported and sponsored by Google

Many TDs today are ex professional hor, just that most get fed up with working for corporate kind of system + foreign trash invasion, so most choose a quite and more flexible life mah. At any one time you pick 10 cabbies today, you can set up a company liao, because there will be ex Accountant, ex Managing directors, ex HR, ex line managers, ex supervisors and ex businessman, if all these can join up and contribute equally, they can set up to run a business, but sad to say, most dun see eye balls to eye balls. If your qualification is high, than becoming a TD is over qualify.....
Long time ago, I have say before, if you are over qualify come compete with us, a true blue collar worker, nb, than we can stand where?......
Come in Taxi industries kpkb, than found a good job, leave like nobody business, LJ ok.....
I can tell you, mostly down to earth TD are like me, lowly educated and a true blue collar worker.....working hard to feed our family, fark all the unhappiness la......
Now I competing with those white collars, they happy bo? LJ than they will be happy, if can will tell me fark back and drive your taxi......
This is reality.....

Taxi driver in fact, is not a job, it is a business, you hired a cab and base on regulations, you ply your business on the road. The key that we want to argue about is given Singapore as the most expensive status and a 1st world society, why is taxi driver of Singapore earning the least out of all other 1st world societies. So, even if we call ourselves as blue or professional, aren't we the most underpaid taxi driver in a developed world

U stay at No collar, wear a $2 bermudas and a T shirt, can borrow from that T2 fatty..then squat near Collar Quay Taxi stand and beg, can earn better than your current job hor. Smlj taxi driver blue collar...limpek drive taxi wear Cdg long sleeve white shirt, LV pants, CK watch...and Bata shoe hor, lj executives at Collar Quay also loose to me.
