What do you do when you do not know how to go?

If you do not know how to go to a place what do you usually do? (e.g don't know the condo, or road)
Those pax living in those small roads will they usually guide you? (e.g. Oriole Cres, Dalkeith Road, Tham Soong Ave)

My ah tiong TD friend dunno hokkien dunno simple malay. So those old uncle and auntie say pek kio, orh kio, chap lao, chap liak lao all kanna chase down..Lol

use GPS either fr phone or ur own will do.nowadays no such thing as don't know the route

Usually they will give you the well known roads e.g Linden Dr or Kheam Hock rd or Dunearn rd. Then they guide you once you reach there. Cos they know from experience if they tell the driver Oriole Cres, most of them will stare at them blankly.
For those kwai lan ones who really give the street that they live, I use GPS to find where the road is. Once I know where, going there is easy.
Finally, open your mouth to ask if you really don't know where the road or condo is. There are more than 5000 road names in Singapore. You are not expected to know all of them. But once you are told where, you are expected to know how to get there using the shortest route.

Places said in hokkien if dont know where in english GPS also cannot help, no hokkien. (places said in hokkien i guess malay and indian drivers also dont know?)

Do you usually press GPS finish, then start moving? I see most taxi like once the pax door closed start moving already.

I kena some assholes b4 not willing to guide bcoz they say they pay n still need to guide?

Simple lah. Don't know, ask lah.
If pax don't know where they want to go, then anywhere is the right place.
If they can tell you the name of the place but don't know how to go, use GPS.
If GPS cock up, use Singapore Map app on your smart phone to check.
Orh kio - old havelock rd, beo crescent area
Pek kio - Cambridge rd/ owen rd
Tanglin halt chap lao - tanglin halt area
Tangline halt chap lark lao - commonweath crescent, close area
Cheet koh - Bukit timah plaza area
Chap koh - junction of CCK & woodlands rd
If really don't know, ask them take another cab lah.....don't be so stressed up, there are plenty of fish in the ocean :)

Dunno road...then ask pax lah, if pax dunno road, then dun take lor, 1 goondo is better than end up with 2 goondos going round and round wasting both time and breath. But learn, you hv to learn, if pax know, you reach already, take some picture and look/remember those prominent object and building, or for that matter, even if you do not bring pax there, you go back also look up on where is the road and learn. Then during those time where you got no pax, drive here and there also no grab, no call, no street pax, try to learn more unique road as you sweep. Season driver like us hv GPS in our head, better and quicker than the GPS, and we do not do it because we are special or born to be TD, we also learnt the hard way, sometime kenna fark by pax learn better, you die die also remember the road when get farked. Singapore got thousands of traffic lights. When stop at first red light which is usually fairly quickly, then check lor...but ask first lah...pax usually will tell you common areas like Bt Timah, East Coast rd etc....

Just to double confirm I ask her is at sunset way?
She replied "I dunno n don't expect me to guide u!" lol
but can tell me go by AYE wtf
then enter sunset square liao ask her where ah
She tell the unit number n expected me to find myself she blur act
So I slowly drive to find the number lor then stop at one pte hse n the maid waiting outside to carry her bags
Saw inside the hse got afew "big cars" parked no wonder she chut pattern lol
Wenever I go sunset way I remember tis incident....

This type yaya papaya type, then you take your time, make her pay more. SG got many funny road names very similar one - sunset ave is not in sunset way but greenwood area right?
Sommerville Rd & sommerville estate road also different area. But Watten Rd and Watten Estate Rd same area.
Then Mugliston, Seraya, etc. Even Leonie Hill different from Leonie Hill Road. Why like that ah?
Got I kena Thong Soon Green and brought pax to Thomson Green. Never knew got a place call Thong Soon Green also, lol

Everytime u do not know the place and pax also do not know the road, tell them, you check with yr map/google/gps first. If pax not happy and said driver should know, then ask her to take another cab. Problem arises is alway due to communication, some atas pax never want to help the poor driver, poor driver get agitated with anxiety, and when the sentence, "you taxi driver dunno the road meh" come out of pax mouth, it hit the nail right into the taxi professional. In pychologically speaking, it hurt the driver pride and confident. But brothers, dun get fool or agitated or sad by all these, a cook cannot know all the dishes, non does a doctor can cure all illness, so taxi drivers are no different. As long as you remain calm, steady and communicate nicely, the pax got no way to get into you, however, it is alway at this juncture, cabby getting irritated, may express his word wrongly to pax leading to complaint and unhappy paxs. Miss, I am so sorry, I am new, do not know the place well, since you are unable to lead me or help, it is best you take another cab. Thank you.
