If they want, can claim from his estate. He will have an executor who will see to this. So all depends on CDG.
This is a really sad story. I see him like that also scared liao. If at 70 still need to drive, it is very dangerous and tiring and bad for health.
So better work hard on side line income so can quit driving asap.

My old casket carrier (ex prisoner) also retired at 66yo, if you want, I can recommend you, just help me to carry the body and casket.

During the presidential election, our current President Tooney Tan told LTA to allow TD to drive until 73yo, I was like...huh WTF!!!, casket driver retire at 65yo, TDs can drive until 73yo??? Then all TDs go support him, now...see lah

My frns uncle who was in his 60s back then collapse at the entrance of cdg main office
He was goin to return his taxi on tat day n give up driving after more than 20yrs with cdg
He died at hospital the same day due to heart attack
cdg gave his family 10k according to my frn tis happen in early 2001

Lucky he did not return the key and sign out, if returned and signed out before collapse...sorry, no payment liao. Got one buddy collapse at Sin Ming cdg toilet, insured 20k because inside office mah -
So if you feel like want to collapse, go into cdg office, not at the entrance, guarantee higher payout. Only apply to cdg driver. Terms and conditons apply

SMLJ goodwill, bo lah, cdg got 1000 staffs, each collect $5 to $10, maybe tammy and ah yang collect more, then those CEO and directors can collect $100, more than 10k liao...goodwill, u wait long long, limpek died already, maybe got goodwill for you, left one bak bak gf at geyland for you to take over... Look, no one owe each one a living, you go sign out a cab from a cab company with your eye open, company offer you this and that, and you agreed, all terms and conditons spelt out, then sign here and there with yr lao hua spectacles, take yr key, view yr new cab...seibei happy, then after driving few months, start to kpkb company this and that for fark??

You can alway walk into a cab company and throw key for all you want, it is not a crime, nor a clause stated that you cannot do it, then can just walk out of the office yo eh yo eh yaya papaya. Company on the other hand, can ask you to hand over the key, it is a equal sum game. Smlj goodwill?

Goodwill.....I talking about if you up lorry while driving, taxi coy gave the family a sum of money for sacrifice your life during serving.....
Is not a claim from insurance or anything like that.....
Waw piang eh, how they cum out $10k or $20k, who's care? Important is this sum of money can at least tight the late family over first.....
Is not automated and family mbrs can't demand for this sum, so is call "GOODWILL".....

CDG is listed company. How can they issue a goodwill cheque of $10-20K unless its covered by insurance? CDG so nice? What they paid out to those who died at their doorstep, surely it must be covered and claimable from another party. At least also must book it as a donation to reduce IRAS tax if there is no insurance cover.

Goodwill is up to the company, there are also badwill, pple give goodwill got their own agenda one, cdg marketing strategy, you should know very well, since gone at Cdg Office, everyone knows, bo bian, cdg hv to show off some care and share to gain other drivers respect and hope more will join in, knn, if you die on yr house or hospital whereby no one know and no one saw,....you think they give goodwill ar??? My friend really was plying the road at the point of time he heart attack.....

But in many companies, they insured their employees regardless of where they are, therefore, coming back to goodwill, it is a matter of willingness and the agenda behind it, as the famous saying "Nothing is free" for this case, it is a marketing strategy strike on the right note. I can spend 100 thousands on advertisment, pamphlets, recruiting (pay courses) and so on, but if I can spend 10 thousands and able to get more attention then but invisible 100 k, why not??? Even right at this forum, we are already talking about the 10k goodwill, and not about the dead Cabby or how is his family, isn't that catching the uptmost attention??? But for me, 10k to die is not worthy, I rather wait at BQ at 3am for ang mo to whack me, then maybe can get 30k and still alive

In today context, 10k is a compensation, not a goodwill, I would like to suggest that taxi drivers to buy their own insurance, it will really help yr family when it the hard truth arrived, 10k from a big listed company like CDG that give huge dividends, what a laughing stock
