bro few days ago I go fix mdt. ask the technician. Told me that starting of july or August onwards will start changing this new device batch by batch. This new mdt is made in Italy same brand as the taxi meter (digitax). I ask him if mdt hang or blank how, meter can't use? He told me that mdt n meter different output/source. So if mdt hang meter still can use. Currently 20 taxi is testing out. So far no complain yet.

Different output/source but same software and program wat. If program hang, everything hang wat. Like my brand new computer, just now Windows cannot start, hang. Then my printer oso cannot print wat. Knn tomorrow must send computer to Sim Lim to find Jover Chew...

Different ki lan, all come from the same source mah...smlj different source or chilli sauce..all come from car battery mah, if car battery goes flat, siao liao. Just seriously ask yourself this question, as a cdg driver, if your MDT hang, do you think you got mood to drive on?

The other time, my MDT hang. Cannot even log into the MDT. Go Sin Ming, knn so many taxis there with MDT problem. Then wait wait wait for 2 hrs. After 2 hrs, mechanic say, "Uncle, you can go. Not MDT problem. HQ software problem". Knn, make me wait 2 hrs for nothing. No downtime reimbursement, lost business oso.

Software developed by Singapore Chennai Business Park Indians, so what you expect, hopefully, cdg TDs can be more nicer to those ah neh trashes, maybe the software will not hv so many bugs...lols

I think new integrated meter cum MDT will have a more fairer fare interm of distance calculation....
Using GPS more accurate than using tyre calculation....
Most time I see Prime Taxi, I try to avoid, their integrated meter like more ex but can understand becos using GPS calculation.....
Also mean, we have been lugi for so many years le....

Trying calling 65524523 if mdt hang non stop or show "selftest fail"
They will reset on their side it will take around 10mins
I tried calling afew times n it did wrk after resetting by them
Pls also monitor your mdt regularly to ensure its wrking properly
sometimes u wonder y suddenly mdt so quiet no calls/adv jobs coming in
But can see other cabs with "on call" sign flying around
Better quickly reset hor i kena few times liao
Those "sweepers" no need to monitor la just help us to clear by sweeping can liao lol

If GPS fark up...gone case, no lah, the intergrated meter do hv GPS and tachometer just in case GPS break down/cannot log in, the meter take over -

Knn, if Singtel can screw up, you think GPS cannot screw up, if the sky is stormy, you think the system work perfect?? you should that anything man make will screw up, sometime, my favorite live match also kenna screwed up, not to mention those parabola satellite dishes at sentosa and Bukit Timah, limpek former 6 Discom signal officer hor -

DUAL CPU
Samsung Primary CPU is 400MHz and the ARM architecture allows this Device to supply a remarkable flexibility and efficiency in computing power, together with reduced power consumption.
Secondary CPU AITP (Automotive Intensive Task Processor) supplies the necessary functionalities in the automotive field, like power management, Safe Shutdown, Wheel Pulses Odometer, Distance and Speed calculation, Wake-Up on Ring, Over-the-Air services for software and firmware updates.
The AITP is OTA programmable for remote automatic firmware upgrade, and is always powered ON; it can turn-ON and OFF the Device and all its peripherals.
IDEAL FOR FLEET MANAGEMENT AND JOB DISPATCHING
Its GPRS/EDGE modem (optionally also UMTS modem) allows very reliable communication with operating headquarters. The vehicle is located by the high performance GPS U-Blox 6 receiver with 50 channels, and compatible with the new European positioning system GALILEO.
Both GPS and GPRS modules can be powered ON and OFF regardless of Windows CE status.
An Hardware MUX Port is available which allows to send AT commands to the modem while the device is connected in GPRS, for example to request connection status, signal diagnostic and modem statistics.
All the communication and tracking features are assured by the AITP processor even when the Device is powered OFF: the GPS and GPRS modules are managed by the AITP both for power supply and for communication.
CUSTOMIZABLE USER INTERFACE
The 7 inches 16:9 clear readable TFT Displays with 800x480 resolution allow to develop versatile and high accessible applications, thanks also to the integrated TouchScreen controller, and to the 6 keys with LEDs available.
Hardware Keys avoid consumption and damage of Touch Screen for heavily used operations.
The ambient light sensor allows to choose an optimal brightness of the display in any environmental light.
The power key is a Smart Power Button, completely programmable and used to perform several important tasks such as:
- normal press to start from System Disk
- long press to start from microSDHC Card
- long press to Shutdown CE safely
Can be also disabled or programmed to trigger Ghost Mode (fake shutdown).
DOUBLE BOOT FEATURE
Through this powerful functionality is possible to restore and to update the entire system anytime, starting from user application up to the complete operating system and all the CPU firmwares.
The system is able to boot from two different disks:
- Flash Disk, used for applications and data;
- microSDHC for large data storage (large maps, images, movies, logs) and for service (system initialization or restore).
STEALTH MODE
Stealth mode is a special operating mode in which the system is working but the display is OFF. This feature can be useful in several situations:
- Driver Control: System has also the wake up on ring feature, so at the central it is possible to remotely turn-ON the device (also in stealth mode so nobody can see that it is starting) in order to check vehicle position, internal audio listening and other data.
- Ghost Mode: It is possible to set the device so that after pressing the shut down button the system goes on stealth mode instead of turning OFF. This feature is useful if you want the device to remain always ON (it turns OFF only the display, reducing power consumption) or in an alarm situation.
- Alarm managing: If system is OFF and alarm button is pressed the system can be started in stealth mode, so nobody can see that the system starts. On this special start the system can be programmed for example to send an alarm message to the central, GPS position or also screenshots or audio.
HIGH AVAILABILITY
The Device can withstand glitches at car start, or power loss problems thanks to the internal capacitors and to the minimum power voltage requested from the automotive CPU.
An optional External USP Battery is available for 1 hour operation without main power and the AITP processor can gives time to user applications and Windows to close gracefully and safely in case of sudden disconnection of the Main Power.
INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
The Device supplies a wide range of communication channels with the external environment: two USB Host, one USB Device and up to 8 Serial Ports.
The special programmable digital inputs and outputs allow to control devices and read signals coming from generic external equipments.
RAPID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
Microsoft Windows CE .NET Operative System and Compact Framework 3.5 combined with the complete Digitax Framework 4.1 allow the developers to create their applications and their services with the maximum simplicity and in very reduced time.
A rich set of Sample Source Code is provided, along with extensive support from Digitax Automotive highly trained Staff.

Then install it on a 5 years old sonata...ho seh liao Recently I took my hirer sonata to service, ask them abt the new MDT, they said, better to fix a fire extinguisher for your taxi, end up one more load of fire extinguisher, but both me and hirer also dunno how to use, my Hirer ask me how to use, I told him, cdg serviceman say, when caught fire, you will know how to use My hirer give me that WTF u tolking look

ComfortDelGro taxis to get new, more advanced mobile data terminals

SINGAPORE: New and more technologically advanced Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) are being installed in ComfortDelGro’s taxis, the transport operator said on Wednesday (Jun 24).
The new terminal, called the X-One MDT, wirelessly connects the booking despatch system to the taxi. It also acts as a built-in taxi meter and payment system which automatically computes the total metered fare and accepts cashless payments.
ADVERTISINGWith a faster CPU and more RAM, the terminal reduces the average flipping screen time from one to a half-a-second, resulting in an improved turnaround time for drivers to confirm bookings, ComfortDelGro said.
Taxi driver V A Moorthy, who has been trialling the new terminal on his taxi since April, said he has observed an increase in his average number of bookings from six to 10 a day.
Mr Yang Ban Seng, ComfortDelGro CEO (Taxi Business), added: “The new MDT will enable our cabbies to take on more booking jobs. This means more booking commuters being served and better income for our drivers.”
The terminal also comes with a higher resolution seven-inch LED display and a more user-friendly interface for drivers. An on-roof antenna and a better GPS receiver have been added to improve signal coverage and provide more accurate location detection. It also features three-dimensional landmarks for navigation.
More than 6,000 of the terminals will be installed over the next nine months, with a first batch already installed in 100 taxis since April this year.

大师兄，Our Ex LV Buddy ~~~~ LV50 is one of the first 100 that have the NEW MDT.
According to him, he HANG untill now become expert Liao �久病�医】。
When MDT Hang, Very simple!
Just open the Bonnet, Unplug the Battery Black Cable,
then 1000, 1001, 1002 and Plug back tne cable, Done �
