  Whether the youngs are going to listen to us or not, is not important, the most important is as long as you teaches them the good, the right way of life and the gracious of it, that is already duties done. You do not need to die with glory like LKY, just be modest, humble and at peace with oneself and others, that will be a blessing

  Few years back, the speculation of late Mr Lee dying already started, even at this forum also post until wu leng wu hong, if u guys still can remember......

  So unknowingly, this wind has blow until today, from people who not keen on politic started to talk politic and concern about old man health, do not underestimate this power of awareness ....

  Of course rumour say is all planned, whatsever la, old man has gone, but gone in a most fashionable way.....

  At this point of time, u talk bad about him meaning u are an ungrateful creature, u all can see the effect?....

  Take it as I'm pang pui or talk nonsense, until the parliament dismiss and election date set, like it or not, the legacy of old man will last for long.....

  Whatsever he has done before no more important, as he was addressed as a founding father of SG, this title alone enough to silent everybody mouth......

  Singapore had been around for few hundreds years, not just 50 so so years, to me, he is founder of PAP that set the modernisation of Singapore. In any nation, no man is above the citizens, it is the citizens that created Singapore, it is the willingness and motivation of the citizens that push Singapore till what it is today, he only set policies, guide and rules, at times with a velvet gloves. We, tho colonised by the British, but it is the british who educated him, and it the british who found Temasek and renamed it Singapore, what if we are colonised by the Dutch, the Portuguese or Spain? you would see Indonesia, philippines and Macau. Like it or not, we are lucky to be colonised by the British in a way of them willing to educate it citizens, who become afluent with laws that even took the british to court and demand independent. So, depend on how individual want to look at it, and with all due respect to him, RIP

  LKY has all my due respect for building Singapore to what it is today.  No doubt about it and I feel very sad with his passing, even today.

  But, I do not believe that without LKY, Singapore would not survive back in 1959. Singapore would still have survived and may even be not much different from today in terms of economic progress.

  If no Harry Lee, the chinese youth today would be speaking mother tongue dialects, mandarin and malay. 

  English they won't know.

  That is to say, chinese youth would be chinese, not bananas.

  The word is alway "if". By and large, at the chinese use to say, a man will alway find his way out as a boat will alway bank itself against the wharf/shore. And I guess many of us here would had in our life, met up with difficult and we are still able to curve a way out of it,...like us..end up become a Taxi driver, and for that reasoning, in the first place we, ourselve have never know we would end up as taxi driver...as the boat will alway bank itself against the wharf/shore. Therefore, if LKY did not governed Singapore, Singapore will still survive, it could be worse without him...but on the other side, it could be better without him too.

  Yes, better make it fast, people may still remember LKY and give PAP a last vote of confident due to him. If the election date drag too long, PAP might lost more seats or may even become an opposition, so to speak.

  Back to LKY and taxi driver, LKY abolished pte and illegal taxi by introducing NTUC Comfort cab with standardized meter, that alone removed those pirate taxi that charge high fare as and when they like. The skill of LKY is alway one stone kill 2 and above birds, he makes decision not only just for one purpose, it must work on various area of good and gain. But cutting off pirate/illegal taxis, putting in comfort from NTUC, it also created job, standardized the fares for paxs, and at the same time, earn profit for NTUC which is also part of the govt.
